Knowing these songs had more stories to tell we invited some of our favourite producers to rework and reinterpret, providing fresh and illuminating perspectives on Anne's heartfelt material. This is Christoph Berg's unmistakable contribution, a delicate resetting amidst plaintive strings, trembling piano and lush loose percussives.

Not Home may seem an unusual choice of single from Anne Garner’s upcoming album Lost Play but there’s precious little that is conventional about this singer-songwriter. Fans of her strange, seductive melancholy will be beguiled once again by the song’s signature union of disembodied sadness and reassuring intimacy. Warm waves of electric guitar and synthesiser cradle glitchy, restless percussives, the soaring silvered pedal steel of Jack Hayter (Hefner, Dollboy) and a lyrical message both beautiful and hard to hear.

Anne Garner’s new album Lost Play celebrates the vital, unrestrained joy of childhood, grieves the nameless slide from curiosity to conformity and reflects on how being moulded by other people can leave us feeling punished, shut down, and open to abuse and loss of self in adulthood. Within the dark reflections from this bygone mirror are comfort, remedy and a sense of hope for the future - for both artist and listener - and perhaps even a rediscovery of that childlike joy all over again.
