"Musicially, “Ontario Gothic” begins where the previous song on the album, “Shadow’s Song” lets off. The the same melody - made from cutting up & copying and pasting singular guitar notes forms the melodic basis for the majority former. The instrumental elements of the middle / transition section make up the Foxes in Fiction song “Breathing In” found on the first Angeltown compilation.

Lyrically, “Ontario Gothic” is written about a close friend name Cait who died in 2010 and to whom the album is dedicated. Cait was one of the closest friends that I had for many years when I was a bit younger. She and I became really close after I had moved back to my hometown in the suburbs of Toronto, away from a farm in rural Ontario that my family lived on from 2001 until 2004. I was coming away from what was the worst and most emotionally tumultuous period of my life at that point and I carried a lot of fucked up anxiety and deep sadness about my life and myself as a person. But more than anything else, getting to know, open up to and spend time with Cait during those first years helped open me up to kinds of happiness and a love for life that I didn’t think was within the realm of possibility at that point in my life. 

She was one of the most remarkable, open and truly good people I’ve ever known, really. The song “Flashing Lights Have Ended Now” was also written about her just a point where we’re drifting apart; a year later she was gone. I wrote this song to crystallize the better parts of our friendship and to remember the healing effect that she had on me as a person which without I would not be the same person or have the same acceptance for life that I do now. I miss her enormously and I feel her influence and presence constantly. "

Childhood - Blue Velvet

Primary Curious was intended as a short-lived cover project. Formed in summer of 1999 in Bielefeld, Olli (vocals), Suzie (drums) and Moci (bass) interpretate songs of their icons The Cure, OMD and The Chameleons. After all the label Genetic Music was concerned in a collaboration. In winter 03/04 the debut album "The Intimate Stranger" was recorded and published in July of 2004.

3.5 years later the band own some live experiences and the first edition of the debut now is solded out. And so that this timeless piece of music-history not get lost we will release this debut digitally in our normal way - also as a free download - to the disposed fan. But not only this - on the new edition with "Rovers" you will get a bonus song only distributed with the first demo recordings of Curious.

You can’t deny that there is something sorrowful behind the Bergen-based, lo-fi dream/psych pop trio Chain Wallet, and you can’t hide that their music suits the environment wherein it was created. It may be a cliché that it always rains in the band’s hometown, but when you play songs like «Faded Fight», it’s not difficult imagine the mist hanging heavily over their indie dystopian vision of Bergen. 

Even though feelings of nostalgia and melancholy lurk in the Scandinavian shadows, it’s not difficult to find indie-pop gold in its purest form, glittering below the heavy layers of synth and reverb.

The band say this about the song: In a blog, someone called our lyrics «nonsensical», and the mantra «can't you see – we're not making any sense at all» is a comment on this careless remark. It is not a love song but a portrayal of a romantic failure. It is perhaps the record’s most to-the-point pop song, with an uplifting chorus that is a stark contrast to the romantic failure. The main character has begun reaching for the moon, and we are giving the couple in the song two more weeks, maybe.

«Muted Colours», the first single from their forthcoming debut album, recieved more than 90.000 plays in just two weeks, and right now everything is pointing upwards for Chain Wallet. «Faded Fight» is available digitally from August 17, and their self titled album will be released on October 7.
