1st one minute music track created in Ableton for Music Assignment in college. This is the track without the interview piece that we later added to it.

Interview Intro Music - January Assignment

Heiðrik is a Faroese singer, songwriter and producer, who has recently been working on his upcoming debut single Maria’s Donkey. He teamed up with the multi-award winning composer Rosabella Gregory (BMI Award, Cosmopolitan Woman Of Achievement, BBC Pebble Mill Winner, Pullen Memorial Prize) to create a unique strings- driven arrangement for his song. 

Having collaborated with the likes of Jools Holland and Delilah, Rosabella’s long-standing experience gorgeously compliments Heiðrik’s creative songwriting skills to bring together the sonically elegant Maria’s Donkey. 

The tone is set immediately by a very minimalistic intro with just the pizzicato strings for company. Leading into a soft and crystal-clear vocal, it creates a feeling of restraint that is softly audible to the listener. 

Maria’s Donkey resembles Gotye doing a Lars Von Trier soundtrack, and is an interesting lead into the world of one of Scandinavia’s hottest new artists. In other words, Heiðrik’s upcoming new single is a real treat for everyone, and will be available for sale and download everywhere from 14th July.

Heiðrik- Maria's Donkey

Last year I got a brilliant opportunity to record with an African/Irish rapper who goes by the name of Marcus Damascus. He was looking for a female vocalist to feature in one of his raps and he was friends with a girl who I go to college with. She knew I liked to sing so she recommended me, and the rest was history! I wrote the lyrics to the chorus and final verse, which is sung by me. I also came up with the name of the song as it suited the lyrics to the chorus. I loved the whole experience of writing and singing my own lyrics, and I hope to do it again soon! Hope you enjoy our song "When You're With Me" :) x

Cathryn Green was born in East London, South Africa. 
She began writing her own songs whilst studying to be an accountant, having spent her childhood years discovering music through her mother's diverse record collection. 
She made a decision to move to Ireland to pursue her love for music and soon began to develop her craft.  It became apparent that Cathryn's unique vocal style aligned to her uncanny ability to write haunting contemporary music sparked interest from various press and media, not only in Ireland but also in the UK and Europe.  Jackie Hayden (the man who originally signed U2) declared Cathryn Green, Best Female Solo Act of 2011 in the respected national Irish publication, Hot Press stating "this is so good we could soon be claiming her as one of our own.”
