Starlight star bright 
I wished upon a city light
That the Western Winds will lead me to you
Like a long desert road with no detours or turns one can miss…
Ending in arms wide open
That greets me for certain.. with a kiss.

Oh that sun sets low 
And time waits suspended,
Mesmerising me, like the warmth of your smile
And though I’ve seen it all, the seafaring wanderer
Has found nothing new …
All this time I was searching for meaning
I found it in you.


Starlight star bright 
The bourbon made this night all right..
But the city streets, holds empty and cold
Every neon sign flickers a heart beat the beckons 
“Come on home”..
Every newspaper flutter, is like Angels that Mutter.. 
“Call his phone..” 

Oh this road I’m on has one destination,
Every star I choose just leads me to you…
Yes I’ve seen it all, like a seafaring wanderer
But one thing held true!
All this time I was searching for meaning 
I found it in you..

method: having written the poem and created a background track, I asked the incomparable REKHA to join me in the gestation of this soundscape and she added her miracle voice and beautiful guitar as well as mixing and  producing prowess. thank you, my dear genius!

narration: this poem combines Indian and European folklore. India is home to dancing Shiva Nataraja, Europe (for precision's sake, Germany) is the place from which folk tales about jesters and 'divine fools' originate. the contrast creates its own kind of magic, especially with my wonderful collaborator! All her mesmerizing additions are copyrighted to her.

from the tightrope line
dance like Shiva
to the song divine

the upward path bristles
with premonitions of joy
Vasuki tightrope
create, play, destroy, …...

good citizens of Schilda
carry sunlight in sacks
change is ecstatic
on four purring legs

oh, the gargantuan cat
will devour us all
circular vistas
from mount Meru so tall

to till fertile soil
at the rainbow‘s end
Mohini‘s beauty
in the pineal gland

glittering caves

on sentinent waves
