“The whole purpose of the album was born out of frustration…” -Daddy Grace

Given his veteran status in the game, you may know the man by the name Born Allah or perhaps Lord Mustafa. But now, the Los Angeles rapper and entrepreneur is known as Daddy Grace, and he’s proud to release his official solo debut album, 'No Hip Hop For Grown Men.'

The frustration Grace refers to while creating this record stems from being a grown-ass man at a time when he feels there’s a minimal amount of Hip-Hop being made for people his age. “I just find that what I have to embrace as a fan of Hip-Hop is far and few between,” he explains, noting that he’s aware it’s always been a young man’s music. 

But now? “There are adult fans and adult artists, and that’s the whole concept of the album,” Grace says. “We’re talking grown-man bars, grown-folks Hip-Hop … for people who grew up in the Golden Era.”

No surprise, then, that Grace comes out swinging on opening track and lead single “Black Cream.” It’s a powerful and fitting way to kick off an album titled, No Hip Hop For Grown Men, because it absolutely demonstrates otherwise. Just because Grace and his killer guest lineup (Chali 2na, LuckyIAm, Planet Asia, and others) have been around for years doesn’t mean they don’t have the same hunger. 

Listen to Grace get funky on “Westside” alongside LuckyIAm and J-Ro, or peep standout sh*t-talking banger “Bang’em In The Head” with Chali 2na and Dirty Birdy—this album is for the heads, the young’ns who want to learn more about the culture, and everyone in between. 

If 'No Hip Hop For Grown Men' was born out of frustration, here’s hoping Grace stays just as angry when crafting its follow-up. Dude’s only getting better with age.
