In honor of Black History Month this mix highlights pure Black creativity in hip hop. Hip Hop in its purest form is oral artistic expression over multilayered melodies, polyrhythmic beats, laced with social commentary and oftentimes consisting of just straight Black shit talking. His MPC machine is currently preserved at the African American Museum in Washington, DC. That's how important his legacy is.
