Amsterdam and Delft based abh & Hoff have been close friends ever since they were four years old. With their passion for deeper electronic music growing, they founded Far Blue together. A musical project and platform, based on a quote that encompasses certain feelings that are described with that blue color of horizons, remote mountain ranges, and anything far away. When compiling a mix, these feelings can always be felt through their thoughtful selections of deeper and emotional sounds.

Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Gilles Wasserman has put together the next Far Blue concept. Gilles is one of the co-founders of Delayed, and a very thoughtful selector and producer as well. Last Monday, his stellar album together with Irina Kotik as Moon Patrol came out, and more is to come. For today, Gilles will showcase his perception of Far Blue through a one hour mix, stimulating the feelings of unknown nostalgia.

"This mix was recorded on a beautiful sunny afternoon in May in my living room, using Xone:96 and a pair of Pioneer XDJ 1000, surrounded by plants, overlooking freshly bloomed trees in our neighboring backyards of Park Slope in Brooklyn. I aimed to create an expression of the changing moods of springtime. The mix captures the emotional rollercoaster of an unpredictable and enchanting season. From the rain-soaked intro to the sunny finale, I plan to take you on a journey that captures the essence of this transitional season."

A Far Blue concept by Gilles Wasserman - 'Future Nostalgia'

Today we share with you Module One's perception of Far Blue. Besides putting together very thoughtful mixes, Module One is a stellar producer as well. To build his own very personal story, he decided to go all original on his one hour long Far Blue concept titled 'Lost in Translation'. 

"The title of the mix is inspired by the linguistic phenomenon of losing or changing the context due to differences in languages and cultures, but for me that metaphorically relates to music where every listener has an individual perception and is able to hear the things the others cannot."

We are happy to share with you Kooscha’s interpretation of Far Blue. 

“This mix contains some music I was listening to and discovering when I lived in and travelled around Cologne for 3 months earlier this year. Everything that felt like a perfect soundtrack for long train rides and zoning out, looking out into the far blue. Mix was recorded back in my Sydney home. “

As he elegantly fuses dub, minimal and more blissful tracks, Kooscha has created an uplifting experience that truly showcases his mixing and selection capabilities. 

“Are our lives predetermined or are we in control? A long distance train journey into an unknown city feels a certain way. I cannot help but wonder if this is analogous to life itself.”

During our recent adventure to Berlin we spent some time in the famous Blackroundtwelve record store where we ended up having a lovely conversation with Philipp Priebe, who has been creating some amazing music lately, deep & dubby with a touch of Berlins mysterious romanticism. A talk about life, culture and swapping experiences of running our independent record labels followed. After this lovely meeting we stayed in close contact and got to work to present you a trilogy of Philipp Priebe on Stately Records; A podcast, Digital release and a release on our soon to be revealed Sublabel (more on that later).
