BIG SONIC GUITAR

We all know, at least the electric guitar playing kind, that after Jimi Hendrix it arguably was Eddie Van Halen that revolutionized what came to be the new sound and playing in Rock Guitar. Inventing everything from superstrat to cranked up sound, to fingertapping to new riffing and much much more.

I owe the man a lot, as he was the one that made younger me in the eighties want to pick up a guitar and learn to play. Like so many from my generation. We are all still chasing that tone, trying to figure out that Big Sonic Guitar ...

I made several hints to famous EVH licks and riffs, see if you can spot them in this original tune in the spirit of =VH=.

I hope you can enjoy this tribute and that it will make you think of him and his joyful, loud and exuberant music.

Sam was unsatisfied and sad
About his life and what he had
A strong urge to change somehow

A thousand nights he lay awake
Thinkin of which step was to take
Afraid and full of doubt

Annie lived quite modestly
Worked in a public library
It needed nothing but a book

On little stories books can tell

It was enough to feel quite well

When they both came across their way
