I uploaded Bitter before but in my opinion this Bitter is better.
I wrote and played it on the 1st January 2023.

I have loved The Happy Somethings since I first heard them when in Azerbaijan about 6 years ago.  We share the philosophy that if we try harder it sounds worse!  I am pleased and honoured that they spontaneously decided to colloborate and be my "ramshackle"  backing band on this song!  a bit like with Buddy Holly's apartment tapes, only I think Buddy's were better before...and Buddy was never bitter.

Bitter - Cobbled Moth & The Happy Somethings

Hank Tilbury and Martin Kirwan have each been great inspirations to Greenwood & Burns. As we aspire to, each uses traditional instruments and styles - old-timey in Hank's case, and Irish in Martin's - as a launching pad for improvisations, extrapolations and experimentations. Additionally, both are gung-ho collaborators whose cross-pollinating projects and outreach have really helped to build the community of experimental folk musicians here on Soundcloud.

This tune started life as a humble clawhammer ukulele ditty, though it's only humble because Hank is a humble guy. Don't let him fool you; he's amazing, and the uke piece is amazing in its own right. Hank and Martin were each kind enough to allow G&B to tamper with it further. Our idea was to ramp up emphasis on as many of the ideas inherent in the piece thus far as we could; hopefully what you're hearing is a 1:43 blast of global old-time with one foot somewhere in the Appalachians, one foot somewhere in West Africa, and both feet on the dance floor. A good set of heaphones should make it all clear to your ears - as always, Jeff did a terrific job mixing the disparate instruments and ideas into what we hope is a cohesive whole.

A response to Bob Dylan's poem 'Last Thoughts on Woody Guthrie' 
I called it "Last Thoughts" as a tribute, but in truth they certainly won't be. In fact my silly naive highschooler butt didn't even put together that he wrote "Last Thoughts on Woody Guthrie" when Woody was in the hospital. You'd think the title would have clued me in but either way hope there'll never be any last anythings. This song is kind of about reaching in the dark, finding strength in the words of strangers and old friends too, lighting the path a little further down the road.
