Jimanica, composer/drummer. based on Tokyo, Japan.
A member of the trio with two drums and visual programming called "d.v.d", which prized honorary mentioned in Prix Arz Electronica '09. 
His third original EP "Pep City" show you his pop side in Jimanica's entire works ever, and also it succeeds to coexistence with experimental approach he has been into since his early career.
He played and recorded all instruments but female chorus, Anna Yamada, a singer who has been working on since Jimanica's  first album.
You will be filled up with 90's flavored funky-electronic music, synchronized with melodic drums and chopped voice collage. This is a "funk-scape".

過去3枚のフルアルバムのリリース、d.v.dへの参加など活躍するJimanica。近年では蓮沼執太、DE DE MOUSE, world's end girlfriend などのサポートをはじめ、ももいろクローバーZシングルへのドラム参加から、やくしまるえつこや川本真琴のアレンジを手がけるなど、幅広く活躍する自身の最新EPはフランス、パリに拠点を置くレーベル ECHOPOLITEからのデジタル配信リリースとなる。
4曲入りの今作は、今までの生ドラムとエディッタブルな電子音で構成された過去の作品から、より一層作曲へとその比重を偏らせ、実験的でありつつも誰もが共有できるメロディを有した、ポップミュージックとしての色合いが濃い作品となっている。全楽器やドラム、コーラスワークの録音、ミックスまでを全て手掛け、ゲストには前作同様jimanica band setのメンバーでもある山田杏奈が参加。
90年代のファンキーでノスタルジックなテイストが散りばめられつつも、ドラムがメロディとシンクロしたり、ボイスのコラージュを操ったりと、実験性に富んだ"ファンクスケープ"が詰まっている。

moai was formed by Yu Ojima in 2001. Had a bunch of shows in Tokyo from 2001 to around 2006 and played some of festivals in Japan. 

We already broke up now but sometime we are asked if our album is still available now, such a great honor to be asked..... 

This album is our first-and-last recording stuff we released in 2002. It used to be on sale only in SPIRAL RECORDS for few years around 2003, and there is no distribution any more.

"FRIDA" Jamila Woods covered by B5 Sessions

Drummer/Laptop musician.
Born in Tokyo in 1975, he started playing drums at 15 years old. After graduating from the Faculty of Visual Arts at Musashino Arts University, he made the move to New York in 1998 to begin a career as a freelance drummer. The year 2000 brought him back to Tokyo, where he soon formed the band ‘moai’ amongst a series of activities as a session player on numerous recordings and live performances. In 2005, he unveiled his electronic/noise-based solo project ‘Jimanica’, releasing his first drum solo album ‘Entomophonic’ from the vanguard ‘mao’ label. after releasing that album, he started his career as a solo live performance artist. In 2006, he formed “d.v.d” with Itoken and Takashi Yamaguchi. They started to spread that activities in all over the world ….participating “Transmediale 08”  in Berlin, touring Europe, Korea, Australia and so on. They got a prize “Honorary mentioned” in Ars Electronica 08.In 2007, He met an electronica artist “Ametsub”, and they formed a duo unit “Jimanica : Ametsub”. They released a first mini album “Surge”. In 2011, his second album “Pd” has released. In meantime he formed his own band and plays shows in not only in Tokyo but also overseas.
