This track was wrote while I was reflecting on the good ole days and the neighborhood I grew up in called Lockwood located in Charlotte, North Carolina. This particular neighborhood was voted one of the nations most dangerous neigborhoods by ABC news during the 90's and early millennium. Although Drugs, Violence, and mayhem ran rampant within this hood myself along with some of the individuals mentioned in this track and the others not mentioned managed to somehow survive the tribulations of the hood.

Ode to Lockwood 704 "Grandmas Porch"

The many thoughts that run through my mind at any given time is what this song is basically about. Marvin Gaye is one of my favorite artist his music pulls at my harp strings and trigger emotions and while listening to Flying High I wrote this song. This song when originally wrote would bring tears to  my eyes as the lyrics really made me reflect on days gone by and those that are no longer here with us.

As a child I would closely follow fashion and it would literally be my great escape from the trials and tribulations I faced while growing up in the hood. Based on a true story this song chronicle the day my home was invaded by robbers. This was unlike any random home invasion, in fact the whole thing was orchestrated by a guy that befriended my older brother Titus some years prior only to learn his strengths and weaknesses. I try to tell as much about the story through song and what better beat to tell a story too than Slick Ricks "Bedtime Story". For this song no special effects and no dubs just me (no filters)spitting over the beat.
