'Jeg ved en lærkerede' is Track no. 1 on Pernille Aidt's album 'Scandinavian Mood'. 

The music is a unique crossover of jazz and folk songs that evoke images of the northern lands of majestic fjords and inviting Danish beech woods where the sunlight plays in-between bright green leaves. 

This group of jazz musicians pay homage to the world famous Danish bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen – 'The Viking' – by reinterpreting his compositions and famous standards from his repertoire. 

With these selected pieces from the Danish music treasure – a mixture of traditional Nordic songs and jazz standards – vocalist Pernille Aidt along with the reputed musicians Hans Esbjerg, Christian and Peter Vuust hit a special Nordic tone with a semi-acoustic and intimate expression . 

The musical universe is marked by melancholic melodies, where the singer Pernille Aidt – originally from Risskov, but mostly working in France and the US – meets the heavyweight Aarhus jazz musicians Vuust & Esbjerg. 

They share the same roots but also mix different cultures with charm, quirky nuances, subtle lyricism and gentle tones inspired by the Nordic climate, which can be tempered but also touches both heart and soul. 

Aidt’s voice is unique and has a very emotional character. With this new album she seeks a new expression that differs from her previous two albums, the debut album 'Serene' and the sequel 'Songs That Dream', by being more acoustic and jazz-influenced.
