ARME are back with new heat in the form of 5 upbeat summer anthems, so if you like your dopamine rushes frequent and your bass tunes classy and entertaining, this whole EP is going to be your jam for the rest of the season.

The Bucharest-based duo's second release on Origami Sound was definitely inspired by the club and tailor-made for it, yet these tracks are the kind that'll make you bounce up and down even if you listen to them on headphones or in your car. All five tracks are the fortunate result of pop and house coming together, borrowing bits and pieces from UK garage, Jersey Club, ballroom and R&B and becoming a new original thing. This is dance music specifically made for dancing and it's a fact that it'll hit the right note with any crowd anywhere.

9.15 city's breakin down on a camels back

Trust us when we tell you Szikra by Kornél Kovács is an absolute house gem. 

The Stockholm producer released it on Studio Barnhus (the label he runs with Axel Boman and Petter Nordkvist) last year and it got a very thorough rinsing on the Mixmag stereo thanks to its lush twinkles and chants of "let's get fucked up". 

With the 'Nincs' EP, he's packing four tracks of similar effect, all smooth house grooves and dazzling rhythms.

Premiere: Kornél Kovács 'Nordic Rave 4'

DJ Sonikku debuts on Distant Hawaii with three sparkling, island-hopping balearic house joints from the heart of a deep jungle-smattered paradise. 

Dreamed up from within the internet-scorched mind of Tony Donson, his DJ Sonikku alias sees him utilise Sega's heralded yet mildly-ancient 16-bit Megadrive console as a proto-MPC platform from which to assemble his tropical-tinged house sound. 

'Land Of Sky' bumps under sandalled foot with a tough-as-hell drum pattern that crunches and skitters below luminous, cloud-strewn synths; only punctured by a wild and hugely over-excited FM bassline. 

'On The Rocks' is a more laid back stroll across lackadaisical beach-scapes, hand stroking palms and gently diving into turtle inhabited waters. Pure lush tropical house with a tinker-toy Vancouver-inspired edge. 

Title track and closer 'Secret Island' is the vacation finale; a yearning, heart-warming trip through cloud city that really stretches the magical elements of Donson's sound into pure house-werk nostalgia.

PREMIERE: Warren Raww - Fresh Trimmed Bonsai [PHZ]

After a tropical storm powered by gaming-vengeance battered the long lost Secret Island, our young protagonist DJ Sonikku - ruffled but not deterred, having drifted for months on a bird-nested raft - finds himself landing on the shores of New York City. Megadrive chip intact, mates along for the ride, and a half century of electronic heritage soaked up in a flash - All My Friends is the culmination of Sonikku's mental and spiritual journey into his own version of a hyperreal NYC. 

A regular feature of the Sonikku homeland and epic structural facet, Chemical Plant is soaked and squeezed with just the right amount of Italo and disco, layered over a stocky 16-bit house groove and a slap heavy FM bass-line. 

Sand Oasis is less about the nostalgic and more about Sonikku now. Beach-tanned drum warmth cracks, pops and whistles in and among sugar-coated, sweet-as-a-nut synth melodies and a rolling 'n' tumbling bass bump. 

Hogging the B-side but to maximum effect, Untitled (Club Use) is a full on music-as-the-medium club statement. A longing and yearning to have have witnessed and being immersed in thriving 80's and 90's New York scene, drawing a distinctive and direct influence from Shep Pettibone and Junior Vasquez. Pure floor-flattening heat riding hard on a Jersey-edged drum shuffle and tightly-chopped vocal flourishes.

MAPS is a project by a London-based Lithuanian drummer and producer, Marijus Aleksa. This labour of love is the culmination of many hours spent touring and in-session with some of the greats of London’s bubbling contemporary jazz scene, resulting in Marijus’s first solo project to date. The EP combines elements of jazz, afrobeat and electronic music through free-form jamming and remixing, with movement and the dance floor firmly in mind.

Musicians featured on the record have been playing and recording with likes of The Sun Ra Arkestra, Blue Lab Beats, Tony Allen, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Ibibio Sound Machine, Seun Kuti, Matthew Herbert and many others.

The record has received airplay and support from the likes of Bradley Zero, Marshmello, Aaron L and Ashley Henry to name but a few.
