One for the family xmas & new year 2014.

Very rough editing, couldn't quite get my ideas realised. Tad quiet in parts. I learnt a lot with this walkthrough.  Longest one I've done so far in terms of recording days.  Took a bit of organising but still wishing I'd recorded more wild track.
Right at the end of editing I realised something using Reaper that would have made everything much easier and sound better however I make no apologies for how rough the edits sound.

thank you to all my family and friends who feature in this: your voices sound great and they have a lot of character which is why I've included them.  Don't want to be hearing any of your bashful complaints!! :)

All sounds taken from a recorded conversation and processed through the volca sample.
Additional layering using Reaper
Headphones advised, I mix quiet, will change this habit.

All sounds made from conversation archive using volca sample and layered and further edited in Reaper.  Hopefully volumes are louder on this upload.

This is my uncle and my mum talking about the time that their brother broke a limb.  Photo is from family slide album. Child with edited long leg, is other uncle, Charlie.

It Was His Arm

I would like to have added some more recording of a conversation that I don't understand, but all I recorded that day was the Catholic priest singing some prayer and a man playing the saxophone. 
I didn't actually catch a recording of the thunder when it rained one night, so I made my own thunder.  I think it worked out.

Headphones are best to listen to this because it's real life.
People -local and foreign, cable cars (Funicolore), walking, sounds in the distance, church bells, butcher's shops, water, private planes, local traffic, building works. Of course, all put together and layered up to provide some sort of soundscape journey. 
Not as many voices as I'd like to have put in this, but I simply didn't have enough that I liked.
