i kept waiting for a more waltz-like section. not that it needs one really, just to make sense of the title. i guess it's not meant so literally. :)

I'm so chuffed you've made a proper classical/cinematic piece.  Brave!  Good!  Keep at it.

The sound and composition reminds me a lot of Larry Fast/Synergy (a inspiration for me).  Check it out if you don't know it.  Check out the song "Revolt on L-5".

cool harmony, melody sometimes doesn't match well imo but overall decent track, well done!

the "classical feel" bits are really nice - especially on the low end.

Nice - Hive is great for this kind of stuff - it's so flexible and controllable -- and just sounds good.

Great composition! Nice harmonic travel and energy. A lot of great sounds too!

That lead sound vibrato feels a little too proeminent for me.

An entry for the KVR One Synth Challenge #179 - Any One Synth.

The unreliable narrative of Spaceman D. Bassman continues...

As the sun falls gently towards the horizon, a lone figure casually lounges in a deck chair, the fiery sky reflected in his visor. In his hands he holds a large glass of his favourite cocktail, Sex on the Beach.

Lieutenant Spaceman D. Bassman had been through a lot lately. After almost 23 months marooned on an alien planet populated by those weird musical bees, his oxygen, water and food supplies were at dangerously low levels. Things were so desperate that he'd taken to supplementing his diet with several particularly fat and juicy bees with each meal. They tasted disgusting, but he loved them nonetheless.

After months of despair and having given up any hope of being rescued, somewhat miraculously, the Corp finally located his emergency beacon and saved him from an inevitable and very likely nasty, bee-poisoning related death. He was lucky, and thankful to be alive.

With his gums still raw and nippy from the bee stings, Bassman, now safely back on Terra, took a long swig from his glass, settled back in the chair, and put another cassette in his Cosmosblaster.

While the sun continued it's decent across sky, the heavy throb of psychedelic space dub and beesong filled the air once more. Bassman sighed a long sigh of relief and wiped a tear from his eye; He really loved those weird musical alien bees.

Just a fun and colorful techno track partly inspired by artists such as YMO and Rei Harakami. Contains a mix of self-made and modified factory sounds.

This was made in Bitwig 5.1.2. It contains the following:

Created entirely using the JP6K synthesizer for the January 2024 KVR One Synth Challenge number 179, this track marks a tribute to the mighty supersaw oscillator that debuted within the Roland JP8000 synth in 1996.

The JP6K synth (by Adam Szabo) is based on just the supersaw oscillator from the JP8000/8080. This oscillator is free-running, mono, can morph between saw and supersaw waveforms, and includes a noise oscillator. There's a filter (HP/LP/BP, 12 or 24dB/oct), and on-board effects are limited to a delay, bass knob, and treble knob.

Last Minute Post - Juergen K - KVR OSC 179

This month's one synth challenge felt like actual work! Any synth, hard or soft so I opted to use one of my wee pile of hardware synths: IK Multimedia's Uno Synth Pro. Midi tracks were laid down in Waveform Pro and recorded (repeatedly) one track at a time as audio. At least my Scarlett 8i6 also gets a look in here...

Anyhoo, 15 'instances' of the IK Uno Synth Pro recorded with Tracktion Waveform Pro 12 and the following plugins:

- The usual Clip to Zero collection of dpMeter 5, Blue Cat Gain 3 and KClip 3
- Tracktion TEqualiser
- TRacks EQP-1A and Black 76 to tame the snare a bit
- Tracks Comprexxor to glue the layered kick
- Air Drumsynth 500 as a percussion standin as the percussion tracks were bounced from the Uno (disabled in the final mix)
- TRacks Bus Compressor on the percussion mix buss
- Mastering the Mix BASSROOM, MIXROOM and LEVELS on mastering duty along with TDR Kotelnikov and TRacks Stealth Limiter
- IK Uno Synth Pro Editor for patch editing convenience

One synth preset was used (Reso Pad) while the rest of the sounds were created from init.
