Malik Payne, (born August.26,1991) better known by his stage name Payne Da Squad Boy, is an American rapper from Philadelphia,Pennsylvania. The founder & C.E.O of indie-record label Squad Boy Entertainment and the former 106 and Park Freestyle Friday Champion. He spent his childhood growing up in the streets of West Philadelphia then relocated and spent his youth in Detroit,MI and Toledo,OH (2004-2011). The Pennsylvania-born recording artist gained attention in the streets of every city he's been in as a battle rapper. His national debut as a battle rapper came when he was signed up for Freestyle Friday (a weekly battle rap segment on pop culture's #1 Music Video show, BET's 106 & Park). Participating on this show he went on to make it as one of the Final Four rappers in the 2012 season. "One thing for sure... Payne Da Squad Boy is one of the best to ever do it on Freestyle Friday" says one of the producers of 106 and Park/Freestyle Friday. The raw talent, hunger and passion is what makes this young man stand out from other artists in his field. "A lot of people say their story is no different from the next man but I believe my story is and music is the perfect way for me to put it out here.. I mean, me wanting to make it and be successful and growing up without a father is probably where the hunger I have comes from" says Payne. He learned to be versitile and transition from being a battle rapper to an actual recording artist. "In 2005, I met a lady at my little sister's school and when I told her my name she stopped like she was shocked or surprised. She grabbed my hands and told me to say my name again, then closed her eyes and told me she see my name in lights.. I took that and ran with it. Years later I'm on BET doing what I do".
