Sarah Matthews was born and raised in San Francisco, CA, the city by the bay (as Journey puts it). She has spent a majority of her musical career singing with various choral ensembles, gospel choirs, a cappella jazz groups, blues bands and has even been spotted singing in a progressive metal band! Classically trained and a music teacher herself, Sarah decided it was time to step outside the educational box and start writing her own tunes. She released her first album entitled "Rewind and Release" on a bitter cold night at Pier 23 Cafe on 1/15/10. Despite the cold weather, people felt the hot vocal vides and the funky rhythms that night. 

Sarah's music incorporates the soulful harmonies that you'll find in gospel and soul music but also intertwines it with old school acoustic chordal progressions like that of Motown and blues. The lyrics of her songs reflect a multitude of emotions that most folks could relate to so don't be afraid to tear up or laugh at a few of 'em. Life is too short and Sarah feels we've all got a dream to live up, so live it!
