La folktrónica es un estilo que nació como una semilla enviada por la Madre Tierra y se reprodujo en todo el mundo como flores, siendo los músicos sus abejas. Desde Latinoamérica se dirigieron a las ciudades como los brazos verdes del Amazonas, pero con charangos, flautas y sintetizadores, hasta llegar a los lugares más recónditos de la Tierra como una voz completamente nueva en la música electrónica.

Con la misión de encontrar el preciado equilibrio entre el mundo de las tradiciones y la tecnología, más un toque de misterio y modernidad, la folktrónica se posicionó como género en sitios web alternativos como Bandcamp y Soundcloud, para luego masificarse en Youtube y Spotify, que fueron lleno de artistas, fanáticos y música que difundieron el estilo desde América Latina al mundo, encontrando luego cada región del mundo su propia interpretación de esta mezcla de sonidos antiguos y tecnología contemporánea.

Hoy, en medio de un presente caótico en la humanidad y frente a una industria musical occidental enfocada en lo puramente comercial, la belleza y profundidad de este movimiento ¨mestizo¨ que habla de la Madre Tierra, tradiciones folclóricas, ritmos ancestrales y temas de El espíritu a menudo se pasa por alto, mientras continúa explorando con la más alta tecnología musical y formándose como un nuevo gran movimiento underground mundial. Hoy Ritmos del Sur emprende un proyecto para compartir, fortalecer y poner en valor estas ideas musicales que ya habitan el mundo entero, con sabores que desde Latinoamérica también pasan por Asia, Medio Oriente, Europa, África y mucho más. ¨Esto es Folktronica¨ es una recopilación ecléctica de 14 canciones que están inmersas en este género, un néctar espiritual que esperamos te traiga paz, alegría y mucho ritmo para alegrar tu cuerpo y alma.

High Summer. Sun is shining and the Bordello is open to newcomers, the latest being Slovenia’s Ichisan. A 12” that bulldozes barriers, Metamundas seamlessly slips between electro disco, braindance acid and gilded funk. Writhing 303 jerks are tempered by warm-hearted key changes for the title track, patterns ducking into playful frolics and lush deeps. And this desire to toy with convention is what characterises the EP. Bitter chords are sugared, machine grooves with nods to the dancefloors of the 70s, spaceflights with undertones of Chicago; Ichisan brings all together in a 12” that is as unique as it is addictive.
