A great spotted woodpecker chick calls to it's parent which has returned to the nest and is drumming while rooks in the rookery above add their squabbles. Other bids audible are Robin, Wren and Blackbird.

Bird feeders

On 9th May 2013 the UK was battered by strong wind with gusts reaching 50Mph or higher. This is a quick outdoor test for the review on my blog at: www.soundsandimages.wordpress.com

Here the Rode NT55 matched Pair are connected to my Tascam DR680 and are un-edited in any way. High pass filter was used though.

Wind through trees in a local wood with gusts at over 50MPH.Rode NT55 Matched Pair into Tascam DR-680. This is a raw sound only cut in length from a 10 minute take and fade in and out added. Otherwise untouched.

Windy Day in May (No Edit)

A robin less than six feet from the Rode NT55 mics. Rolled off some bass as a road 1/4 of a mile away was a bit of a problem. A dog walker came along and Robin flew off to another perch. Omni capsules and Rycote Baby Ball Gags fitted to mics.

A family of Great Spotted Woodpeckers got very close indeed. Lots of other birds singing away throughout. At one point the woodpeckers were at eye level with me as I sat under a tree.
