Americans call it "The MotherRoute" because it was the first paved federal highway in the country. It’s also called "The Main Street" because it was literally the Main Street in many of the tows it ran through.&nbsp; It was in 1926 when the government began building this national highway which passes through no less than eight states: Illinois,Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California.&nbsp; And do you know how many miles there are on this route? It’s really frustrating when someone of something is in front of you, slowing you down. So today I'm gonna teach you different ways to tell people to hurry up in English. In today’s lesson I’ll teach you how to order coffee like a New Yorker, and with a funny mini-story, you’ll improve your fluency in English. In the last part of the lesson, I’ll remind you how to activate your English vocabulary. Ok! Let’s start! With so many options available these days, it's hard to decide what kind of coffee to drink and it can even seem a little intimidating. Being familiar with these basic words and phrases will help you order with confidence, and order something you really like! Start by deciding if you want a milk-based or black coffee. If you are lactose intolerant, on a diet, or you simply don’t like milk, go for black&nbsp;coffee. Choose the strength as well as any extras you want. Finally, tell the barista or waiter if you want your drink hot or iced, as well as the size you want. You'll see how soon you'll be ordering coffee just like a pro. When choosing your size, keep in mind that coffee shops are not always consistent in the terms they use for small, medium, and large coffees. A "small" in one coffee shop can be a "tall" in another and a "single" and so on. So ask your waiter to explain your store's lingo if you're not sure. Add extra shots, if you like. Your waiter will be happy to add an extra shot to your coffee. This can make your drink tastier and richer in caffeine.&nbsp; Just tell your bartender that you want a "three-shot latte," for example. But ugly or not tough, interjections exist in all languages. These are all interjections. An interjection can be used as a filler. They are very important in spoken language because the conversation becomes more natural. Bad luck, good luck...Superstition is something that people think can give good or bad luck. And all over the world, there are superstitious people. However, not everyone is superstitious, and some think it's silly. So they don't believe in anything. I'm gonna comment on some of the most common superstitions I know: -1) Finger crossing: If you cross your fingers, in theory, you avoid bad luck. For example: "I'm going to cross my fingers to win the lottery.” - 2) Touching or knocking on wood: This is also quite common. The expression "to touch wood" means that you don't want something bad to happen. For example. “My friend Laura can't find a job.” "Well, touch wood. In this episode, I’ll teach you how to compliment a woman if you are a man.&nbsp; I’m sure this will be very helpful :) And after that, you’ll practice grammar with a Point of View story. Complimenting a woman can make her feel special by showing her how wonderful you think she is. However, some guys don't know how to make good compliments. They either say the obvious or exaggerate compliments. As a woman, I have received a good part of the compliments both requested and unrequested in my life. Some comments have been sweet, some shocking, and some even repulsive. Before complimenting a woman, you must first determine if the context is appropriate.&nbsp; Where is the conversation taking place? Are you at work, in a public place, or are you alone? It all depends on the physical context of the conversation. What's your relationship with her? Are you strangers, friends, colleagues? If you are strangers, an unjustified compliment can be met with hostility, even if you don't say anything inappropriate. No matter the context, however, one of the key things you must do if you want to be successful in complimenting a woman is to have at least one conversation with her, even if only for a few minutes. I’ll start with the most popular ones:&nbsp; bucks, dough, bread, cheddar, paper, Benjamin, Benji, etc.&nbsp; The following terms are outdated or rarely used:&nbsp; bones, scratch, cheese, lettuce, salad, chips, cake, and cabbage.&nbsp; The dollar has also been referred to as a "bean" or “bone." I start to think about what presents to give to my family and friends. Normally I make a list, so I don't forget anyone. Can you imagine forgetting someone? That would be terrible! That's why I start very early to plan what presents to give to everyone. Finding the right gift for someone can be difficult, so what I usually do is search online for gift ideas. And buying online helps me avoid the holiday crowds. To really feel the Christmas spirit, I like preparing a pot with a delightful scent using orange, cinnamon, apple cider, and clove.
