Tributo a Richard Polson.
"May Your Journey Through The Stars Be Peaceful."

Si hablamos de la historia del Techno a mediados de los ‘90 es fundamental la figura de Richard Polson (1969-2006) y su aportación a esta cultura pese a su prematura muerte con 37 años, de la que hoy se cumplen 18 años. Fue uno de los pioneros en crear una nueva línea sonora de techno europeo, tribal, minimalista, oscuro, repetitivo, con funk y texturas abstractas.  

Artistas como Jeff Mills, Claude Young o Ben Sims apostaron por incluir este tipo de sonido en sus sets y pincharlo en la mayoría de clubs y eventos de todo el mundo.
Fundador del sello Surface Records (1997-2019) y co-fundador de Blueprint Records en 1996 junto a James Ruskin, fueron compañeros de estudio y debutaron con su primera producción firmada como Void en 1995. El siguiente año, estrenan el sello Blueprint donde comienzan a lanzar sus primeras producciones bajo el alias Outline y presentan al joven prometedor Oliver Ho (Birdland, Raudive, Life, Broken English Club, Slow White Fall…) quien se encarga de firmar varias referencias en Blueprint y posteriormente en Surface. Durante la primera etapa de ambos labels cabe destacar la participación de artistas como Claude Young (aka Twine), Alexander Kowalski (aka DisX3), Paul Mac, Locutus, Epoch (Ashley Burchett), Oscar Mulero, Surgeon, Regis o Archae & Grovskopa.
Richard Polson (Lysander Pearson, Structure, Richard Lahaine, Brendan Ealey) fué mitad del mítico dúo The 65D Mavericks (2000-2006) junto con Nick Dunton (D-56M, Ever Vivid, The Echelon Plan) debutando en la primera referencia de Coda Records en el año 2000. También firmaron juntos algunas referencias bajo el alias de Abelde, Spirit y Dual Unity (con Mark Broom).
En una segunda y última etapa Richard y Nick fundan Ebullition Records (2001) donde sólo se edita una única referencia. Posterior a esa experiencia nace Inceptive Records (2003-2006) con la visión de promocionar a nuevas generaciones de artistas como: Ø [Phase], Nick Wilson, HU, Sys-Ex, CYP o Reeko que aportaron producciones de alto calibre en esta nueva etapa sonora posterior al año 2000, donde se puede apreciar que nuevos horizontes sonoros del Techno se van a explorar durante la siguiente década.

En este mix la mayoría de tracks que se han seleccionado son principalmente de artistas con colaboración directa o de manera paralela en proyectos con Richard Polson, incluyendo tracks del mismo artista y algunos de sus alias.

65d Mavericks - Notions Of Progress

L.I.E.S. presents the first part of Broken English Club new album trilogy, White Rats. Following on from last years The English Beach, White Rats is described as, "a collection of caustic and absurd portraits of the human animal". Oliver Ho continues to push his industrial influenced sound with metallic acid tracks, guitar noise/drone experiments and heavy synth wave once again with this nine track release.

The album sleeve features the disturbing and erotic photography of Javier Gallego Escutia, which also comes as a poster with limited edition copies of the record.

White Rats part 2 and 3 will surface in 2019.
