"SUMMONING OF INFERNAL LEGIONS" is now available again 16 years after it's initial vinyl release in all it's Barbaric Glory. This release shows the band in it's primordial state when they injected an eerie melodic element into their extremely harsh and aggressive music. BLACK WITCHERY's releases are considered by many to be the most grim and hateful music ever to emerge from the US underground. Dark Horizon Records was at the forefront when we signed this cutting edge prolific Blackened War Metal band in 1997. Where were you then? We were worshipping SATAN and raising our Unholy Banner in homage to the Dark!

TAAKE - Nattestid Part II

THE CULT 1992 RELEASE OF BLACK/VIKING METAL FROM THE GRAMMY-AWARD-WINNING NORWEGIAN PIONEERS, NOW ON PEACEVILLE.    

Enslaved was formed by Ivar Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson in 1991, and are based in Bergen, Norway. Ivar and Grutle had previously played together in the death metal band, Phobia. Taking a different route to many of the extreme metal Norwegian bands of the early 90’s, Enslaved embraced their Viking history and culture, composing ferocious epics of extreme metal combined with hypnotic riffs and repetitious structures; Enslaved even becoming signed to Euronymous’ Deathlike Silence label early in their career.

  ‘Yggdrasill’ was the band’s second demo (following 1991’s feet-finding ‘Nema’), showing a young band with great passion and creativity. The songs were understandably raw and contained some traits of the Norwegian wave of black metal sweeping the region at the time, along with their own individual touch. Although more focused on Viking/Norwegian lore than anything satanic, Enslaved’s signature sound still captured the magic of the genre with long, hypnotic compositions losing the listener within their vast sonic landscapes.  

Over the years, the band has integrated strong elements of progressive music into their compositions and  Enslaved has gone on to worldwide notoriety for their stunning live shows and accomplished blend of atmospherics & sumptuous, powerful riffs, receiving numerous accolades along the way, including Norwegian Grammys.  

This edition of ‘Yggdrasill’ contains lyrics, as well as new liner notes written by the band.

Enslaved - Heimdallr (from Ygggdrasill)

The plague still billows hollowly after all these years and still destroys all hope, illusions and beliefs. GOATBLOOD, a German Black/Death Metal Combo who show some Doom influences, impressingly demonstrate on their first demo that there’s still enough flesh to rot on the corpse of Black Metal. Slow and fouling songs with deep growls and remarkable riffs cut through every positive perspective.

The demo is a transparent pro-cassette, limited to 200 copies (2nd Edition). If you like VON, FAUSTCOVEN or BLASPHEMY, you’ll be satisfied with this one.
