The Glitz is ending the year with something truly special. No noise, no distractions, just a beautifully stripped down song that carries an ocean of emotions. As December is a time for contemplation and reflection, their single “Seven Rivers” gives space for you to do just that.

Mulay’s magnificent vocals soar along a ravishingly tangible piano, moving between the most fragile and the most hopeful tones you will hear this year. It illustrates how Andreas and Daniel are capable of creating the most magical soundscape variations through their music, and how they found their perfect partner for such an adventurous album project in Mulay.

We are more than excited to introduce to you The Glitz’ second album single “Treat Yourself Badly”. After making waves with their first single “Dicktator” that saw some massive support from artists like Robag Wruhme, Richie Hawtin, VNSSA and Claptone, the guys are ready to take us on another ride down groove lane. 

“Treat Yourself Badly” starts as fragile as they come with a soft synth melody and the goosebump-inducing vocals from Fanny Winter. It builds up slowly, adding layers of rawness, strength and roughness before ending in a complete breakdown that beautifully contrasts the dramatic energy in the peak.

But of course, The Glitz are not our favourite glitzers without their signature club sound. And here the crafty soundscaping of Daniel and Andreas really comes to play. Turning the fragility from the original into a funky and groove ridden “Club Mix”, the guys know what buttons to press to make the dance floor vibe. Catchy drum work intertwines with the funk-loaded bass, just how we love it. While the synths roar and soar in the break, the energising cowbells give the track a proper spank throughout the build up and into the drop.

Two tracks so different yet so familiar when you hear them. This is what we are here for, this is The Glitz!

I arrived at Golden Gate club early in the morning, and, honestly, I hadn't expected a big party to be in full swing on a Friday morning, only few days after NYE. To my surprise, the place was packed. The DJ before me was playing an amazing set, perfectly setting the vibe for the day. I took over and ended up playing for 6 hours and enjoyed it deeply, especially before my two months break from deejaying.

The musical background of these two guys is just very different. Everything began with an oldschool hip hop and crossover. In the middle of the 90’s they found their love for house and techhouse music. After moving on as DJ’s and having some solo releases the young and talented guys decided to create THE GLITZ in 2007. There they started with three members - but now they’re down to two now. The first EP “White Line” was a huge success. Surprisingly THE GLITZ found themselves in many DJ playlists and other electronic music charts around the world. Their follwong releases “Chatter” and “Tenga” tie in with the success of “White line”. THE GLITZ have a few releases waiting in the start blocks. So you can get ready for next singles called “Silbersee”, “Last Panther” and “Red Leaves”. Labels like Material, Ideal, Voltage Musique and Pocketgame support THE GLITZ and their kind of electronic music. The keen sense for the right sound at the right moment makes THE GLITZ not only convincing as producer but also as a DJ-Team in the clubs. People love their energetic sets, but also to see their passion behind the decks is worthwhile is the motivation of this two guys.
