UK underground star Denney and the pioneering D.Ramirez collaborate for the second time on Crosstown Rebels to present the mighty Raven, released this October.

The title track Raven opens the release in dominant fashion, with melody and percussion that builds suspense before a compelling bass line takes control. On the B-side Still I Rise complements brilliantly, sampling legendary poet Maya Angelou and fusing her words with another infectious groove.

Following a year which included his mix compilation Global Underground Nubreed 12 entering the Official UK Dance Charts and the single Empire released on Pete Tong’s FFRR gaining support from Radio One DJs, Northern favourite Denney has continued his rise in 2019, with forthcoming music on Stereo Recordings and Saved alongside the launch of his own events in his hometown of Middlesborough.  D.Ramirez needs no introduction, having firmly stamped his mark in Dance Music since the 90’s with 4 Essential New Tunes, 4 UK Top 10 Hits including his massive remix of Bodyrox “Yeah Yeah” which went to Number 1, won an Ivor Novello award and winning him DJ Mag Remixer and Producer of the year. Vibe Material come up with more of that groovy goodness here with a huge package featuring INVU, the voice of house music that is Robert Owens, and Markus Homm.

Eau de 90s opens up with the classic vocals from Owens layered over warm house beats, a nice bassline is joined by raw perc and make this a perfect tonic for the club.

The Markus Homm remix is then more stripped back and driving, with a slick house groove and rubbery kicks getting deep under your skin. Vinyl Crush is a darker, dirtier tune with burrowing beats and a late night menace that keeps you locked. Once the big diva vocal arrives hands will go in the air. Steady the Ship is a more bubbling and warm tune with well programmed drums and chords that tease and please.

Overall this is a house package that packs a real punch.

A regular of Rebellion and a good friend of label-head Damian Lazarus, New York-based Serge Devant makes a welcome return to the label with ​Third Planet​. Set for release on 25th September, the EP is made up of two peak-time, club-ready tracks that showcase Serge at his best.

Speaking of how the release came together, ​Serge Devant described how the EP was inspired by a “Soviet era science fiction cartoon that I loved when I was a kid”,​ ​culminating in a record that is “​oriented more towards peak time.”

The science fiction feel is felt right away, as the title track ​Third Planet gets underway with a bouncy lead bassline. Choppy and swinging, it’s the rustling hat combos that accentuate the tracks rhythmic feel before reverberating vocals blend with pulses of acid to create a fiery, dance-floor ready number. ​Girls Laugh c​ ompletes the two-tracker in a similar vein to the first, with a no-nonsense club-oriented feel that hits as hard as it sounds. A prominent lead kick forms the backbone of the track, as subtle pads rise and fall alongside softly echoing vocals, to form a minimal-leaning number with plenty of groove attached.

A regular of the international club circuit as well a prolifically talented producer, ​Serge Devant has carved out an esteemed standing within the electronic sphere.
