Great stuff Tom, 1st set was fantastic 2nd one was out of this world . I was to the left for the 1st and bang in the centre for the 2nd. What did you record on out of interest?

@lukid is about as low key as they come. Somehow, he's managed to remain in the shadows despite making music - either solo or as half of Rezzett - for cult labels like Actress' Werkdiscs and The Trilogy Tapes, as well as his own Glum. His style is hard to define and can take in anything from caustic sonic collages to experimental and abstract sound design via lo-fi house and blistering beats. Since 2018 he has also made old school jungle as Refreshers, but whatever he does, it always explores the outermost fringes. The same is always true of his never less than adventurous transmissions on NTS each month.

In just 55 minutes for us this week, he serves up a breathless trip through hugely kinetic sounds that could be 30 years old or not out till next month. Amongst the colliding energies of hardcore, jungle and rave he will often drop a pitched up vocal so soulful and emotive it hurts, before racing onto the next flurry of drums. Frankly, it's a high speed mix of hyper real sounds that acts like a double shot of adrenaline straight into your bloodstream. You have been warned.

Autechre - Mix for Neuvoids

Manchester's Skam Records have earned something of a cult status over the last 30 years. Helmed by Andy Maddocks, the label has become synonymous with names like Gescom, Jega and Shadow Huntaz and built a huge family of producers who've returned to release on the imprint time and time again.

In the latter half of the 90s they became one the first labels to sign Boards of Canada and go on to release two of their early EPs; Hi Scores in '96 and Aquarius in '98. More recent movements have seen Skam keep it local, including Afrodeutsche's celebrated debut in 2018 and a second 12" from North Manc Beds, while last month saw the release of a They Can't Be Saved, a new album from James Ruskin & Mark Broom's Fear Ratio project.

Off the back of the release, Andy takes the reigns for today's mix to give us a taste of the label, past and present...

Skam: The Flavour of the Label Mix

Genuinely vibrating, right from the start: The EDWIN Music channel's 96th mix comes courtesy of Berlin-based DJ and producer https://soundcloud.com/jass-29, famed for her multifaceted DJ sets and music that goes beyond the functional spheres of electronic dance rhythms.

To accompany her latest EP "Whities 027” release, EDWIN have joined forces with Jasss and the Amsterdam based designer and art director Jonathan Castro to release a limited Tee, referencing a selection of track names while combining the lines of letters in a pan-typography for the robotic future.
