The latest offering from Hood Politics is a multi-genre peak hour smasher of a record by weird house badman, Emuh (Desert Hearts, Laser Native, MTWAT). Emuh's first involvement with HPR began by collaborating with Nutty on a few tracks, which then led to discussion of an EP release. Over time, Emuh he's assumed a crucial role in the label, so much that we've organized our first ever tour around his EP release party. We are blessed to welcome Emuh to the label and cannot wait to see him climb the ranks to become the quirk tech lord he's destined to be. 

The first track 'Telephone' is a collaboration with Zof, another upcoming Seattle artist and talented vocalist. Featuring tripped out vocals, samples, and driving percussion, this track will bring a smile to your face and confuse you simultaneously. 

'Dab, Where Are You' is another wrist-flingin' house tune, but it seems to exist on another planet in this release's universe. This time Emuh himself steps up to plate on vocals; a relatable anthem for the forgetful stoner in all of us.

We believe Lucati is a name you'll be hearing a lot of in the coming months... and years. With true house music ethics at his core, the LA based producer and DJ has been releasing in tandem, alongside his brother Dateless, throughout 2017 on respected imprints like Dirtybird, Confession and Toolroom. More recently he's turned out unaccompanied solos as November and December 2017 found him appearing on the rosters of Box Of Cats and OKNF. Then in January 2018, a 3-tracker on Dirtybird's Birdfeed titled the 'Whistling Duck EP.' We were presented quite a few demos and picked our favorite 4 from the bunch. It wasn't easy as they were all very good. This is pure Tech House in our eyes with driving basslines and funky percussion leading the way from start to finish; The kind of music Perfect Driver was founded on in 2012.  - How long have you been creating music?
I’ve been playing musical instruments as long as I can remember but I started writing original music when I was 12.

 - What do you use to make your tracks?
I mainly use audio from analog synths, drum machines, samplers, random musical instruments from my childhood and whatever else I can get a recording of. “Who’s That” and “Meugitions of Tym” were composed completely with original recordings.

- How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
I started hearing about Dirtybird when I began DJing. It’s been a real life-changer as I dive deeper into dance music.

- Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?
Claude VonStroke… Why not, right?

- If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
The Matrix

- What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
My recent favorite concert was the mau5trap showcase during Miami Music Week 2018. The db level was insane!-

- If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
I think it’d be cool to go to the distant future, whenever there’s world peace and interstellar space travel.

- What species of bird best describes you and why?
Definitely an owl. There’s a few that like to hang outside my studio window constantly, not sure why though, maybe they like Dirtybird too?

- What does Dirtybird mean to you?
Dirtybird has been such a big inspiration in my musical career. It has pushed me to step out of my comfort zone, do more things in life and helped me push the boundaries of my music.
