In July 2023 the EP Routine Routine was released with the singles 40.000 Sonnen and Knoten im Taschentuch, which were be pre-released in May and June. The three songs were recorded live on a winter evening. The action was documented with smart phones and other toys.

The reincarnation of Kanu (released on the 2018 self titled debut) is probably the poppiest single of this trilogy; pop in the best sense á la shoegaze / dreampop / ambient. Field recording drums, broad melodies, and appreciation that everything is based on repetition end in an abrupt slowdown, then noise, then nothing.

40.000 Sonnen

In the first of the three singles anti-Western tunes meet synthlines with galloping sequencer drums and promise a long, short life. The duelists of the fun society enjoy the upcoming weekend and have already fucked up everything before High Noon.

0101 play the saloon stage in an anti-Western. Caught in an endless loop of guitar loops dripping with reverb and rusty electronic beats, the antiheroes lose themselves in the nowhere and never. Stefan Carl and Dr. Daniel von Rüdiger seduce on the dance floor at the bar and in the back room to a hypnotic journey. At the end nobody knows 
how she and he and it could get to this place and to this time. 

Started as an art project with their audiovisual live performance 1Hz 0101 toured museums, galleries, churches, universities and beaches before entering the red carpet of film music in 2020. They composed the original soundtrack of the motion picture 972 BREAKDOWNS - Overland to New York and were nominated for it with the German Documentary Music Award.
