Having released on labels such as clipp.art, Yung Dumb Records, and his own Nerang Recordings, the Australian DJ/producer now turns his sights to the new Chilean imprint Long Life Label for his second album, the debut release from the label.
With energetic vocal led tracks such as ‘Powered Down’, ‘Unbroken’, and ‘Legacy’ sitting alongside dusty lo-fi tracks such as ‘Why Do You Make Things So Hard’ and ‘Dedicated To The Kool’, the LP shows the Australian artist drawing together disparate styles and moods for a cohesive and thrilling listening experience.
From the pounding ‘Polaroids’ through to closing track ‘Bad Neptune’, Dj Whipr Sniper showcases his wide-ranging influences on the twelve tracks across the album, covering the sonic grounds of techno, new wave, hip-hop, acid house and beyond. Hailing from the Gold Coast, Australia, Dj Whipr Snipr has been running the Nerang Recordings label since 2016, championing music from P.Leone, Dj Bowlcut, DJ Swagger, and more

On our third-year anniversary, we are stoked to launch ‘Yellow Island Various Artists 2021’. The compilation brings new faces to the label and features artists from different countries around the world, allowing each artist to express their own essence.

This V/A showcases experimental sounds, with 20 tracks that flow through the genres of house, lo-fi, electro, IDM, breaks and jungle.

We had the pleasure to have Gabriel Massan design the cover artwork for the album.

Yellow Island Records is a brazilian record label. Inspired by the creative and chaotic environment of São Paulo city, Felipe Bortoloti, better known as Nørus and Flávio Albino, aka Albin, founded the plataform in 2018 as a way to connect artists from different parts of the World.

Working on its seventh release, Various Artists 2020, Felipe & Flavio have managed to wrangle in singles from dance producers and artists from North and South America, Europe, and Australia. Our favorite tune from this 23 track collection comes from Melbourne native DJ Life, who was previously featured on our site with his tune Rock the Beat.

Parisian Cosmonection is back for his second outing on Beats Of No Nation. This time a little deeper and more refined but with that same groove that piqued our interest the first time round.

We premiere, Maerado - a percussive swung techy workout, underpinned by a whirring South Asian, Desi undertone. This snaps in and out of action as soon as you're soon met by the chord progression and the punchy bass line, which both combine and meld seamlessly into the mix. The anchored loop washes over and over in hypnotic like synchronicity - with elements delicately and gradually added and removed from the mix. If this is your bag, the rest of the record is most definetely worth a look, with cuts both suitable for the armchair or indeed the floor.
