Celebrated underground talent Will Taylor (UK) kicks off his FREAK imprint release schedule for 2024 with a thumping new single titled '2NIGHT'.  

Encapsulating the weighty, groove-ridden flavours that have seen Will's DJ sets and previous productions hailed by many, '2NIGHT' combines dusty percussive swing, hard-hitting drums, nostalgic soulful vocals and a hooking rhythmic sub-bass melody. An archetypal head-turner and hand-raiser, a characterisation Will has become renowned for churning out frequently, '2NIGHT' is a definite go-to to turn any dance floor on its head and get people effortlessly moving.

London-based DJ/Producer Will Taylor has soared to prominence over the past two decades, evolving from a local nightlife scene enthusiast to an international touring artist and label owner. His success reflects an unwavering work ethic and limitless creativity. Known for his vocal-driven peak-time grooves, Will's distinctive sound stems from extensive experience across all facets of the party spectrum, from warmup sets to show closings. His performances at renowned venues like Amnesia Ibiza, fabric, and Studio 338, alongside industry heavyweights such as Skream and Solardo, showcase his emphatic DJ skills.

In the studio, Will contributes to esteemed imprints like Saved, Sola, and elrow Music, as well as his FREAK label, which serves as a platform for emerging talents. His work has garnered support from industry tastemakers like Jamie Jones and Marco Carola. As he prepares to release an official remix with Mr Vegas on Cr2 and embarks on tours in the United States, Australia, and South America, Will Taylor remains dedicated to solidifying his global artist status and elevating the acclaim of his FREAK label.

An artist who understands groove, Nicola Gavino’s sound echoes vintage flavours with distinct funky and fresh rhythms. His summer has been a busy one, with performances at the likes of Kappa FuturFestival and his long-running residency at Turin’s Audiodrome Club, plus releases on Dennis Cruz and Eddy M’s MÜSE imprint, SOSA’s label COCO, and more. Now, as he steps out on Jamie Jones’ revered Hot Creations for the first time, the Italian talent puts his best foot forward across three peak-time house cuts inspired by the label boss himself.

“The main track was inspired by a video of Kappa's mainstage in 2022 recorded from a friend's phone. Jamie was playing this glitched edit of Sweet Dreams (which I only found more than a year later) which really blew my mind. I watched it so many times that I felt the need to make something myself, recreating and exaggerating that special vibe. The track being. chosen by Jamie himself for Hot Creations is more than a goal and an honour for me; it is about paying respect to a label and a DJ who always inspired me and which I look up to.” - Nicola Gavino

With its sharp synths, feel-good trumpets and deep driving bassline, the spirit of Chicago house is present in opener ‘Givin’ My Love’. Next, ‘Lazer Tool’ offers a more modern minimal sound, rich with percussion and distorted SFX. Closing out the EP, ‘Pump Up’ combines elements from the first two tracks with cutting percussive kicks, warping distorted vocals and a grooving hypnotic bass that’s destined for the dancefloor.

Nicola Gavino - Givin' My Love

Imhotep ("eem-ho-tehp") is a non-binary producer and DJ whose journey began in the heart of the Midwest and now thrives under the vibrant sun of California. Growing up near the birthplace of house music, they were immersed in the genre’s rich history from an early age. This deep connection sparked a lifelong obsession with crafting their own unique sound within the house music spectrum.

In 2012, Imhotep first touched a set of mixing gear, igniting a passion that continues to evolve. With 13 years of DJing experience—Eight of those rooted in California's dynamic underground scene—Imhotep has refined their skills and developed a signature style of mixing and production.

Balancing a whirlwind of activities, from DJing weddings to producing original tracks and researching the intricacies of the music industry, Imhotep remains deeply grounded in the ever-shifting landscape of the underground. Their journey has led them to perform at numerous events across Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange County, and Palm Springs, carving out a space for their bold and boundary-pushing sound.
