„The Few (with Odd Beholder)“ is the first single taken from the forthcoming album „ANGST“ by Douglas Greed.
Douglas Greed comes from a house and techno background and this electro pop song is a rather unusual kind of song for him. The vocalist ODD BEHOLDER lets you dive into an observation of two characters that got divided by fear.  Fear of the unknown - the fear of change - the fear of strangers. It is a driving and catchy song even though the story is quiet serious. 

But thats what music can be there for: telling stories that keep on ringing in your head!

"Roll With The Punches" is the second single taken from @douglasgreed's forthcoming album "Angst". It shows his talent for tracks that dress up as songs. The vocals and lyrics by his friend @joy-wellboy paint a sweet - sour picture that is able to give you much needed sun in the morning. It as a warm blanket that emerges out of thin air and is here to stay. The track thrives to the moment when all the sorrow and fears fall down the edges while you stay there and enjoy the sight of waves.

trndmsk: How long did it take you to produce the album?

Douglas Greed: I think the oldest track is more than four years old. I didn't wake up one morning and told myself „lets make another album“. It was rather a slow process and at some point i had a couple of tracks that fit together. And then came the idea to have an album that is about „Angst“.

How did you choose the title of the LP? Is there a special meaning behind it?

These past couple of years felt like everything was a bit out of control - a bit out of tune. Starting with the UK voting for Brexit, then the US electing the worst human being into office and even Germany french kissing with fascism. That seriously kept me up at night! I was afraid - i am afraid. This helplessness was new to me - i never thought that things could turn this bleak. Who in his right mind would vote for a dude who says „you can grab them by the pussy“ or how can it be that German people vote for a fascist teacher … ?

And then there is climate change … That seriously scared the shit out of me.
So i decided to see how i can put this into music. But not just political rooted fear but also personal fear that comes with being an artist.

What inspired you to produce the tracks and the LP?

There are songs with guest musicians that gave the „Angst“ theme their own spin and there are a couple of tracks without vocals. With those instrumental tracks i tried to catch the bitter-sweetness of fear, as it is also the driving force in my life.

Where and how did you produce the tracks?

I produced most of the tracks in my studio in Berlin. For some of the recordings i drove to Switzerland to record and talk with ODD BEHOLDER.

How did the collaborations come about?

I talked with ODD BEHOLDER and Joy Wellboy about my ideas of "Angst" and asked them to put their own approach into vocals, Lyrics and riffs. Which was quite interesting for me as everyone of us has a different relationship with fear and the way it impacts their life.

Our 15th-anniversary gift is a nod to the evolution of Stil vor Talent: we present two 11 track compilations that will scratch every musical itch.

From the downright dirty dancefloor bangers to the gentler melancholic tracks more suited to the day-after-the-nights before. 

Part 1 of the two-part compilation certainly stirs the pot.
Stil vor Talent’s young guns Sam Shure and Cioz bring a dose of youthful sass to the mix, sprinkling in layers of texture to create a lively, organic vibe, setting the tone for the rest of the album.

Swiss artist Kellerkind’s characteristic soulful house meets the collective enthusiasm of Township Rebellion to create ‘Bird Vision’, a slowly building, heavy-hitting cut which melts into high-tech aural sorcery.  

Adding a dash of her very own nu-rave vibes, Deer Jade takes us into a groove portal with the mystical melodies and spaced-out sound of ‘Let Go’.

Rising star Yetti Meissner presents her first-ever release: ‘Nadir’. It’s deep, it’s dark and it’s safe to say that her energetic, gritty style of pure techno will shake the foundations.
