During the pandemic lockdowns I had much time to explore some new Genres. Ghetto Tech and Electro finally gave me the opportunity to combine HipHop with Electronic Music properly.

The motto of the uncompromising and ambitious Melati who comes through for Mantissa Mix 206. Aimed at techno heads but with added spice, Melati skirts through a multitude of genres from bass, techno, donk and hard style, expanding horizons on what rave music can be. 

'All I want is for people to party when they hear what I play.' This is the simple but effective approach layered throughout Melati's mix, featuring tracks from @kavarimusic, @tsumutsumu, @lil-data, @taahliah, @djg2g, @garridge, @countdonkula and @gullyteen.

Born in the Pott & raised in a small town near Holland. Jonny
grew up listening to old school hiphop most of the time. He quickly realized that most genres are interrelated to each other & that it´s all about creating groove with maschines. 
He dedicates his musical journey to nothing but groove and the subculture behind it ever since: Polyrhythms, percussion, soulful samples or amen breaks combined with pumping 909 Kicks & hypnotic basslines in a breakbeat or 4-on-the-floor context can be heard in his fast forward mixtapes or at the club.

Our guest for episode 7 is the Manchester/Sheffield based DJ and producer @mean_e

He has been progressing rapidly as a producer with some colossal releases on some major labels including CYBERJIT, Lobster Theremin and more recently Jerry Horny. Not to mention high quality tracks release occasionally on his personal soundcloud.

The mix he has put together for us is an hour of high energy rhythms. Very electro based and with excellent mixing!

This is a 110 SAMPLE whopper sample pack to soothe the winter blues and provide hard relief to your locked-down musical soul. It's full of warm to very hot samples thrown through a variety of tape/vinyl/scorcher & flamethrower chains plus some added EQ/comp/saturation/reverb to mix it up.

Make some harder music over the holidays and take your rage out on the computer. Technology is evil, governments are evil, everyone's getting richer, use this sample pack to fuck them all.

Goes well with a variety of teas, meditation, pet cats, Ad Blocker, tonal wears, plus any music software you desire.

I often pop my samples through a number of warmers and add a nice mastering chain. Smackos does the bizz but there are tons more, make sure a -0.01db or 0.00db ceiling limiter is applied to keep from getting that nasty Ableton master raw. That raw is too raw. Like WAY too much.

Recently, our selecta has been focusing on his production, churning out bangers for the likes of @planetariasoundsystem and @hyperdomeuk. The London-based disc-jock and producer brings his trademark brand of gnarly, full-throttle electronics to the table with this recording.
