A real education in music from a young age, formed the backbone of his craft today. Many of his early influences can be heard within the heartbeat of his productions and live sets, the intricate use of old school hardware synths and modulars form the heartbeat of his style of techno and its derivatives.
The Macrogravity story started in the ’90s where the prominent raving scene in his homeland gave him an adoration for electronic music. This lead to the purchase of the, then, staple belt-driven turntables, and in turn, and after many hours of honing in on the technical side of the art form, the next chapter began to take shape.
A move to London followed which kickstarted his rise on the UK Capital’s vibrant underground techno scene. Frequenting lineups around the city, notable performances at Kings Cross hotspot EGG LDN and the widely-adored Shoreditch venue, Village Underground have topped an impressive CV and joins the likes of the world-renowned Ministry Of Sound.
Radio soon came calling. The opportunity to showcase his frequencies on the popular Project London Radio landed, where he now operates a bi-weekly residency slot and has given exposure to a wider audience and a regular channel to his ever-growing fanbase.
Within his wonderfully individual sound, a signature high octane tempo is often a feature of both the Macrogravity live performance and production, often based around a thumping bassline full of punch and vigour. Strong synth sequences are usually evident as is his soundtrack of techno through the ages, making his composition unique.
Firmly on the production trail, Macrogravity has released several high calibre productions, widely acclaimed on the circuit. October 2020 saw his debut release EP ‘That Night’ on the rising ‘Asia Music’ imprint, reaching number 26 in the peak-time techno Beatport chart, no mean feat. A string of releases followed and an impressive back catalogue has been formed. The release schedule shows no signs of slowing down with many compositions ready to drop over the coming months and year.
The future is certainly a bright one for Macrogravity. With a tasty and hefty release schedule, and gigs returning to the calendar, you can expect to see a lot more of his incredible talent and watch his rise to the upper echelons of the circuit.
