This was an album that was made when I moved to Seattle in 2020. I was intrigued by the idea of a future where robots have replaced humans and are mimicking their ancestors by going to electronic 'cafes'. What would they be listening to?

It's now 2024, almost a quarter of a century later. The idea is one that I think is closer then we think.

RECOGNIZER is an acronym for what happened to humanity, and is buried somewhere within the album. See if you can where it's hidden..

@simocell 'Crystal' [@bfdmrec] breaks things in on a propulsive note, merging blipping synth shards beaming like lasers with a set of lashing snares and spooky pads. Imagine advancing in the smoke-filled corridors of a severely damaged spaceship taken over by alien entities, seeking refuge in decompression chambers on the lookout for an escape pod. Guns blazing, adrenaline rushing, the end is near. Stay alert for facehuggers, the hunt is on.

For this @DarkScienceElectro premiere we take a listen to a track from a recently released LP by @Conforce (aka Versalife) on @2020VisionRecordings

Versalife aka Boris Bunnik is one of the most respected producers in electro, recording for many of the truly great Dutch labels including Delsin, Clone, Rush Hour and Frustrated Funk as well as cutting edge imprints like Brokntoys, Shipwreck and Transcendent. Bunnik has toured Versalife live extensively across the world, as recently featured on Boiler Room. Bunnik now presents his debut release for 20/20 Vision as the label continues it’s path into the world of pure electronic music. 

This record is available now at all fine record shops and will release digitally on July 15th.
