Welcome to the May instalment of the Atmospheric Existence show on 1BTN.FM, where this month we welcomed supreme selector and good friend Matt Pond with a special Deepsystems mix joining the show as our May guest.
Matt Pond is a man who understands that the gulf in hierarchy between DJs at the top and bottom of the food chain is as vast as it’s ever been. Despite or maybe because of this, Matt Pond is one of those guys who has picked substance over style: modest and demure in his demeanour, you only have to scratch the surface to realise he’s a seasoned professional who’s been in the business for decades. He’s a humble individual who sees past the glittery awards and their accompanying hubris and has stayed loyal to his loyal stalwarts of underground culture.

Matt created Deepsystems, a party, a radio show and a moniker, which has beamed out endless heartfelt sounds worldwide for many a year, weaving his own story that emits emotion, groove, funk and pure future soul. If you've not heard Matt's music before, i can only say that here is an individual
who will not settle for anything but the very best.
A DJ at the top of his game, with a unique deep style, that favours musicality and substance and in my eyes up there as one of the very best in the world, hands down.

Atmospheric Existence with Miles Atmospheric & Guest Matt Pond (Deepsystems)

Hello! 

I’m back and welcome to Scene 3 of Somewhere in____. It’s  been sometime since the last podcast but I have been busy being productive.. lol. Over the past week I have had the chance to play out in Detroit during Movement at the Meta Ta Physika preparty at the Leland City Club. Along side Dustin Zahn, Centrifc, Mary Yuzovskaya, Kyle Geiger and a few others. I had a great time and it was a GOOD RECHARGE for me and my creativity. So to keep the juices flowing I decided to finally update the podcast with a few tunes that I didn’t get the chance to play out that night. I hope you enjoy. And shouts out to my neighbor Mr. Lee he's the guy in the photo on the lawnmower. He takes the time to make sure our neighborhood looks good by mowing others lawns who can do so or if the property is an abandoned home or lot. I salute you!!!

An ecstatic journey and, simultaneously, a ritual in honor of techno. The second Domus Cast is curated by o.utlier, a DJ, live performer, and Irish producer known for his unmistakable stylistic signature.

In this set, created during that unforgettable night, the artist crafts an atmosphere filled with dense and enigmatic sounds, striking a perfect balance between drone, ambient, wavering synths, distorted percussions, and immersive field recordings.

o.utlier is the co-founder of Titrate Records and has collaborated with renowned labels such as Appian Sounds, Ufonic, Soul People Music, Verdant, and Naïf. He has long been a resident at Astral Industries and has performed at prestigious venues such as Vurt, Tresor, Under Bron, Iklectik, Corsica Studios, and for collectives like Experiment Intrinsic and Mysteries of the Deep.

Welcome to a new edition of The OA Transmissions on Mutant Radio, featuring a guest mix by Jamie Slater aka Winkles. 

Having grown up in a barn with a door in Devon a young winkles seeked refuge in hoarding emotionally charged records of the wonky variety. This brought more disarray to an already tapped criteria which ultimately lead to the chances of a cow stealing their shoes as being unlikely, but not completely out of the realms of possibility.

Review-
Atmospheric Existence Recordings keep up their annual release rate with label boss Miles Sagnia inviting 1DAN and Bittersuite to join him on only the third release. 1DAN opens proceedings with the sprawling soft machine funk flex of "Foundations", a track driven by gutter deep bass movements, steppy syncopation and rich sonic textures that no doubt helped influence the title of the EP. On the flip Bittersuite step forward with the upwards acid dub pressure of "Squeeze In" which steadily accrues an acidic overtone before a delightful left turn into a futuristic mechano soul rhythmic thrust. It's left to Sagnia to provide the final moment with the tightly relentless throb of "Can We Heal Them" that slowly reveals its inner acid brilliance.
