Florida-based musician @wavetemples steps up to deliver the 376th edition of the IA MIX Series, interweaving a far-extending mix spanning experimental sounds, piqued for sun-bleached climates, abstract meditation and pensive relaxation.

The mix, dubbed 'Jungle Escape XXX' is a mind-game governed by the track list, featuring Not Not Fun Records cohorts X.Y.R., Voyage Futur and Andra Ljos, as well as unreleased tracks from a brand new label project.

Having recently released 'Panama Shift' LP, plus a new 7-inch on Possible Motive, Wave Temples continues to explore oceanic anthropology, folklore, and the mythos surrounding seafaring cultures and long-lost civilizations. Past entries to their discography are synced to sleep cycles, collections of live sets, and clusters of vignettes laced with field recordings and home synth experiments.

In our wide-ranging interview, we present a glimpse beneath the surface of the project. Wave Temples' sonic aesthetic is woven together with a DIY attitude forged from years in Florida's underground scenes, philosophical influences, and a lifelong fascination with music and art that ranges from Delta Blues to punk, noise, and Marcel Duchamp. They also touch on how each release resonates from specific periods in their life, the collaborative nature of 'Panama Shift', and preparations for an upcoming Florida tour.

»In the age of constant connectivity with its manipulated landscape of performative happiness that stretches into infinity, and where the only thing to do is get lost, we try to remain loyal to true emotions and concentrate on the meaning of community. Radical literally means »pertaining to roots«, from the Latin radix. Using the word radical doesn't mean being radical.«

Radical is a duo formed of Jan H. Läkemäker and Louis F. Baca V. in 2017. Primary instruments are drum machines, synthesizers and one tape player.

In about 1991, singer songwriter ( and my wife ), Robin O'Brien home recorded one of my favorite songs of all time called "Summer". And although this song has nothing to do with me, it has a very special, personal meaning for me. This version was never released on any of her early tapes. This tune also appears on her 2013 album, "Dive Into The End of The World" but this is  an earlier version and it still crushes me. Ready to get crushed?
