Wow old school find! My second ever mixtape. The first tape was a drum & bass/jungle mixtape that was 75% tracks from the Reinforced label. This mix is mainly Michigan and Ohio artists.

Solid Steel (25th July) We start this week with Leeds based producer Bambooman who has his EP 'Dulcet' out on Sonic Router. He has also released on Brownswood and Project Mooncircle, and this is what he said about his mix:
"I tried to make the mix as summery as possible to go with the great weather we've been having; so here's hoping it gives of that vibe! I included a few old favourites - tracks that inspired me to make music in the first place from people like Edan, Moondog and Storms and Stress - alongside some new stuff I found that I've really been feeling from Lonnie Holley, Mo Kolours and Connan Mockasin before tying it off with 'Like A Hawk'; a track by my good friend's band, Golden Teacher. The rest of the mix is all my own material: Bambooman tracks (some released, some not) alongside tracks I've produced for London based soul singer, Segilola and bits from my side project Grouphums and 'Ferric' from my Rhodo Dendron collaboration alongside producer Venuq.
Best served with sunshine and an ice cold juice..."

I did this as I was so stressed from having our car winder smashed.. so my mixing is shit (again) and I was on a pressure cooker valve for a chair.
It relaxed me.. and its the first wee mix for a year and a half.... yes, it is made of piss.

Solid Steel Radio Show 9/12/2016 Hour 1 - King Geedorah Snake Charmer Mix

Been into (electronic) music since I was a little lad.. my mum used to play Brian Eno to us when we were kids.. kind of set the neurlogical path with a certain eccentric electricity.
Kraftwerk were my enlightenment - again my mother needs to be thanked for this.. whilst my dad was into the funk, soul, punk and provided a very open mind.. Then electro arrived in the UK... 12 years old, lino and tape cassettes of streetsounds comps were all heaven sent...
In my teens I dipped into the world of jazz and thought I was bohemian :P .. then house music and techno took me by the scruff of my neck and I was hooked.
I can't place my taste apart from being HEAVILY influenced by 5ish years of obsessive devotion to PURE in Edinburgh - a legend of a club that from 1990 - through twitch and brainstorm's minds - focussed its crowd on fucking amazing musics; and amongst so many other things introduced many of the 1st/2nd waves of detroit producers to Us of the North. Blew my mind.

My brother truly inspires me with his love of proper house, disco, plus all things beyond and around; and his permanent (P) creativity. I wish I could spin like him.. and that is his blessing :)
ME = someone who mucks about with decks badly, loves a panoply of sounds and wishes he could immerse himself in making musical collages all the time.. I love all the time..... I'll give it a go.The more I know the more I realise I don't know! CLICHE! tahdah
