Ida Daugaard(@ida-daugaard)(Berlin, Germany) is the next artist of the Podcast Series by 118 BPM Rules. Well known dj from the north of Denmark, that has played at festivals and clubs all over the world. 118 BPM Rules: What are your origins, where your artistic career started? And the most important ¿When did you noticed that music was more than a passion for you and that you wanted to dedicate yourself entirely to this profession?

Ida Daugaard:
I'm from a little city in Denmark called Aarhus. In Aarhus I went to my first warehouse rave in 2005. Walking through the door I fell in love with electronic music and everything around it. And yea, ever since that day I have always had a profound love for the twisted dark dancefloor.

I bought myself Pioneer 800 Cdj players and played for fun at home. I recorded some Mixtapes, and soon after the clubs started to contact me for gigs. I never made a plan to become a full time Dj, it's something that have just happened naturally over the last 7-8 years. 

118 BPM Rules: Talk us, about your sound as producer and dj.

Ida Daugaard:
My sound is trippy, groovy & minimal. And I love to play it slow. 

118 BPM Rules: Producer or DJ, ¿What you most like?

Ida Daugaard:
I have only been producing for 1 year, so i'm still learning. 

118 BPM Rules: What are your influences?

Ida Daugaard:
In my late teenage years I was very inspired by old rock like Joy Division, The Smiths, The Cure, Patti Smith, Kraftwerk & 80's synth pop like Depech Mode as well as late 90's names like underworld. Today i'm getting a lot of inspiration from romanian artist like Raresh, Praslea, Radu Mirica, Rhadoo & Barac. And listening to other Dj's play. The last mind-blowing set's I heard was from Christofer Henn & Cem Orlow, very inspiring! 

118 BPM Rules: Speaking of others upcoming projects, how it looks? What other interesting projects can you share with us?

Ida Daugaard:
I'm very excited to go to Zurich this Friday to play for Kasheme, that is an amazing online video stream channel. Here I will be playing a very chilled slow and experimental set for a crowd sitting down. It will be a very different experience :)

118 BPM Rules: Which is the city that you enjoy the most in the world, and why?

Ida Daugaard:
I have decide to live in Berlin, I love this city. It's full of art & good music.

I'm living my dream, travelling the world, doing exactly what I love & feel like.

Every day we start the day in our studio, for us is the moment for the creativity, then after a long trip trying to do some new Music, we try to do some other stuffs like office job, the managment of our label Hopeless, answering interviews, searching other artists etc..
