Mbasa Ngumbela AKA "YoungB" was born into a large family from the Eastern cape and started his humble beginings in the streets of East London. "...I dont really recall much from life in East London, i only lived there till i was about 5years old...". In 2000 YoungB later moved with his family to Port Elizabeth were he found stability in the small suburb Rowallan Park. At this time music was not really his main focus, sports was where he showed alot of promise namely, Hockkey and Soccer. "...At this time i did not even know about hip hop that much, i was more into house music more than anything...". In 2008 at the age of 13 YoungB would then move to where he is currently based, Cape Town. It wasnt until 2009 where YoungB would start picking up on the hip hop culture, he was at the tender age of 14 at this time.
Late 2011 is the year life changed for the young teen from P.E. "...As from a young age ive had a deep passion for football and had big dreams of becoming a successful football star..." late 2011 he had a big injury to his knee that set back all his dreams of ever becoming a football star. "...I felt broken, like legit broken physically and mentally, i just didnt have anything to live for anymore..." and within that period of time he was injured he picked up a pen and a pad and has never looked back since.
