141 Guestmix series #013 - Kors

KORS is a 21 year old DJ/Producer who is part of the Nomanzone crew which is based and founded in Hong Kong. His first live outing was on the 31/12/2019 playing a count down set to start 2020 off with a bang, that night he showcased his talents playing over 10hours of non-stop psytrance. 

His favourite genres are Darkpsytrance and Hitech, he experiments and includes high BPM tracks which vary between 160-200BPM.

Since moving to Manchester in the United Kingdom he is looking to start to find more events where he can showcase his talents, you will certainly catch him at a 141 event in the near future. 

Kors has blessed us with a power hour of nonstop psy & Hitech. It is our pleasure to have KORS on our guestmix series, biggup the Nomanzone & Hong Kong family everytime

Guestmix series #013 - KORS

Chilli bon bon started back in 2018, a few mates calling themselves a name they heard a radio presenter say when it was snowing ("it's very chilli bon bon outside"). The first 2 years consisted of their team throwing free parties on a plot of land they owned near to Nottingham City center. After the first 2 years most of the team had moved on to other things, leaving MrBon n Kreech to decide where they wanted to take things. After attending events like Tekonta and Deng we decided we wanted to try and move the illigal free party scene into a legal venue. From then they went on to build their own soundsystem and other event equipment that they have used at a wide range of events from birthdays right up to major events in legal venues charging no money for entry as we want to open people up to the world of soundsystems and bass.

There is massive things to come from this producer, and it’s an absolute privilege to have somebody of his calibre to kick off our series and we are looking forward to seeing what he is capable of as he embarks on his new solo journey. Kendot is a DJ/producer from the Northamptonshire area, He started to learn his trade in 2018 and quickly became involved in his local scene, he Co-owns In the lab events which has been keeping Northampton's nightlife alive. 

This mix takes you through the spectrum, as it starts off with a nice liquid vibe and slowly progresses into the darker, harder and techy side of drum and bass with a sneak preview of his unreleased EP 'With Wolves'. Guestmix Series #002 - Kendot

Konehead is a DJ/Producer from Kettering, Northamptonshire. In 2014 when he was 18 he found his early passion in mixing hard trance In late 2015, with the help of his mate KronicL he hooked himself up with his first folder of fidget, he has not looked back since. Pushing the unique free party twist on the generic Bassline sound.

Konehead is currently signed with Land Raver which is a Bristol based Label. 

He has recently embarked on the journey of production showing us a few of his creations in private, all we can say is there is massive things to come from the Kone and we’re certain he will become a pioneer in this genre.

Roeton is a DJ/Producer who is originally from Stafford, Staffordshire but currently resides in Derby. He found his passion for jump up drum in bass in early 2016, has supported the likes of Ego Trippin, Bassman, Subzero and Warhead.

Most recently he was supposed to be performing at Spring Break in Amsterdam but due to recent impact which Covid-19 has had upon the globe the event has been postponed until further notice.

With this newfound time, he has decided to bless us with a one-hour mix showcasing his personal collection of dubs and firepower which he has in his arsenal.

Ben Argo is a DJ/Producer who is originally from the Isle of Wight but currently resides in Brighton, and has releases on Serial Killaz, Random concept & Murky digital. 

He started mixing when he was 14 in his mum’s garage on the vintage belt turn tables, within a year he upgraded to 1210’s as he invested into his hobby with great reward as he got his first set at the age of 16 in 2006 at the Ryde theatre which now is called the Venue. He decided he wanted to further progress his knowledge and understanding of music by studying music production in Brighton and then progressed onto a higher-grade course studying at Northbrook college. 

His heart has always been with drum and bass and will be for the foreseeable future, although he has dabbled in other genres like Grime, Rap, Hip-hop & Garage. 

Subliminal recordings is one of the UK’s most renowned labels which he created with a few friends; their first event was on January 18th, 2012. From 2015 he took the reins and created what it is today and is currently working with some of the biggest names in drum and bass. 

He wanted to thank all the teachers and pupils from access to music Northbrook college and University for allowing him to develop his skills to what they are today. 

This mix is a mashup of all kinds of drum and bass and he claims it is one of the best he has done this year, we hope you enjoy your 1 Hour with AGRO!

Guestmix Series #005 - AGRO

Ending 2020 with a mix from zns who is a highly rated Producer/DJ from East Yorkshire, he is also the owner of event Wabi-Sabi which was founded in 2017. His love for music stemmed from hip-hop and trap, but his heart has been set on the 808 sides of 140 and dubstep and started mixing when he was 19. 

zns has caught the eye of many people in the 140 community with his most recent release ‘with(out) u’ which has had plays on Deep Tempo and the BBC. 

Everyone at 141 cannot wait to put this year behind us and get back to some normality; it is an absolute pleasure to have ZNS ending this year with a bang!

Slender(Left) has brought his own unique flow to the drum and bass scene.
Touching the techy and darker side of drum and bass, he provides a constant dark rolling rhythm which has almost become his trademark with people who are close to him.

To fully appreciate this mix it should be played on any bass heavy headphones or sound system so that you can hear the low ends as they are intended. There is some serious floorshaking bass in this one. 

We're anticipating our next event to be in Nottingham. Sticking to the 141 ethos of Underground vibes in a small confined spaces whilst also debuting our brand new soundsystem. We are looking forward to seeing you soon.

Introducing the 10th person of the 141 Guestmix series is the well known Wijjy!

Wijjy starting mixing three years ago but has always possessed musical talent as he started producing and engineering his own sound 3 years before he even decided to start becoming a DJ. Wijjy loves any stompy or groovy 4 beat. His energy is unmatched and his love for the genre radiates once he starts spinning on the decks or when partying til the late hours of the next day. 

Wijjy has played at many established events and festivals some of these include: Boomtown Festival, Bris-Tek Events, Bangers & Mash, and Olliefest. He was one of the first people to play at our first ever 141 event which we will be forever grateful for! 

It is an absolute privilege to have Wijjy back for a 1 hour session of all things 4x4, we hope you enjoyed this mix as much as we did. absolute banger

Guestmix series - #011 – Swayin (BarnTek)

The 11th member of the 141 Guestmix series is BarnTeks resident DJ & founder Swayin!

Swayin is an 18-year-old DJ/Producer and was born in Wimborne but grew up in the Southwest he started mixing in 2017. He began to take an interest in music from an early age, and his preferences range from the steady vibe of classical and hip-hop to the extremes of Dnb and rock music. He mixes the majority of free party genres, but his heart is set on the dark side of drum and bass as shown in his 30-minute mix.  

BarnTek is a notorious Soundsystem founded in 2018 and is located in the Southwest, its origins stem from where they sharpen their mixing skills, this is in the barn which is where the name comes from. It is a big inspiration for what they do, Barntek has a lot of people helping behind the scenes, and they will start to introduce them as time goes on as they are planning on creating their own Guestmix series.

BarnTek has linked up with the other heavyweights of the Southwest like tek services, desolate, Fintan stack. 

Looking towards future BarnTek is looking to get into more ticketed events whilst also staying close to its roots and aiming to get their stack to UKtek and every other banging party around the United Kingdom. Whilst the Covid-19 pandemic has swept across the United Kingdom, BarnTek has invested a lot of energy & time in creating its new Soundsystem. 
Luckily enough for us at 141, we have seen how they do it in the SW, and we can promise you that they mean business. 

As the SW Soundsystem families would say, 'The Southwest do it best.' 😉

Unlimited stomps resident guest mix series #002

Unlimited stomps (Right) is a multi-genre DJ who started his career by mixing bassline under the alias of Hazey Tom. During a venture into Wales, he found his true passion at a Resinous & Desolate free party, stomps was immediately sucked into the energy and vibes which come along with all forms of trance. Even when leaving the party Stomps wanted to go back as he had just had an infatuation with a new kind of sound. This is what started the journey of Unlimited stomps. A hard trance DJ with unrivalled energy, bringing back the old school anthems whilst also blending some of the newer sounds being produced. 

He has played at all events with 141 & is an integral part of its success. He’s also played in Manchester with one of the most promising labels Warped.  
Behind the scenes Stomps is working tirelessly to perfect his sound, he has just started the journey of HT producing, so keep and eye out for some bangers in the near future. Post COVID Stomps will be up and down the country representing the 141 crew in any forest, quarry or warehouse the scene has to offer. 

There is plenty of other guest mixes which will be getting released with other labels & Soundsystem crews soon so expect to start seeing the name Unlimited stomps more regularly as his popularity sores.

Resident mix #002 - Unlimited stomps

The 12th member of the 141 guest mix series is Poland's Detoxic.
Mateusz Cybulski, aka Detoxic, is a Producer, DJ, promoter and graphic designer. He was born in Gdansk, but he now lives in Gdynia, Poland.

 His interest in electronic music started in 2005, with Trance and house piquing his interest. In 2008 he began to venture out to his first raves, and the rest is history. Detoxic's DJing skills have kept his support list well fed over the years, injecting top-notch names into it such as Noisia, Andy C, Agressor Bunx, Mefjus, Black Sun Empire, Emperor, Jade, Mindscape, The Upbeats, Wilkinson, London Elektricity, Danny Byrd, Audio, Pythius, B-Complex and many more.

His musical creations indulge the listener with atmospheric, psychedelic and trench-deep drops. This is spiced with hypnotic trance leads, plucks and pads, providing his style with a distinctive signature around the ever-changing scene. His hard work is prevalent in his DJing habits. He refuses to sit in a single genre and is always experimenting with creating a new sound described as modern Neurofunk. 

At the age of 17, he was thrown into the deep end with his first set after having minimal training on CDJ's he performed at the Ucho Club, Gdynia. During his interview, he spoke fondly of these times, paying particular attention to how he used to wear hair gel & earrings. (The best of times) 
In 2015 Detoxic won the let it roll DJ contest, and he considers it his most significant achievement to date. Prior to this, he had only played at a few events and could not imagine what it must be like to play on a festival stage in the Czech Republic. 

Breaky Vibes consists of 9 members. It is a 6-year-old collective from Poland. Together with 175BMP, they are the most recognised collectives in Poland. Every year they organise a large variety of DNB events with foreign and local artists across Poland.
The nine members of breaky vibes are The Inflamers, Noisy, Elba, Peep&JJ, Scythe, Paradigm, Ariel, and Detoxic. A few months ago, The Inflamers released a cutting edge debut EP on DLT9 with premieres on the renowned Skankandbass and DisctrictBass.

Deep Dnb in Poland is thriving and probably has one of the most underrated scenes in Europe; it stays underground as most focus on Liquid, from producers such as High Contrast, Netsky, Wilkinson. 

In the future, Detoxic aims to come over to the UK and make his mark on the well-developed DNB scene. Additionally, Detoxic and his colleagues have big plans to launch a brand new music label BVR 2 weeks today, on the 19th of March. Their first EP consists of four tracks from Payne, Kyst, Andrew Bobson, Content and Offish. 

It is an absolute privilege to have Detoxic on the series.
