Next up in our mix series is Wave Arising aka 69db aka Sebastian Vaughan, a pioneering live electronic artist and longtime member of legendary collectives spanning all the way back to the 90s, such as Spiral Tribe, SP23, R-Zac, Stormcore and Network 23 Recordings. Alongside dancer Kynsie, he fuses weightless techno with spiritual and ritualistic elements for the Wave Arising project, creating a new frequency of rave culture through sound and movement. With roots in dub, hip house, acid house, and Detroit techno - and as a co-creator of the hard-Tek/tribe genre—his drummer's foundation keeps his music deeply rhythm-driven, as heard in last year’s release ‘The Rooted Sky’.

In this mix, Sebastian delivers a 90-minute live set that showcases his signature improvisational approach. He experiments with shifting rhythms and layered textures, steadily evolving the energy with a sense of patience and intent. It is as hypnotic as it is groovy - shifting from minimal, polyrhythmic pulses to fuller, weightless grooves.

Since 2017, she has been releasing EPs, remixes, and compilations on labels like Kallkällan, Tjalk, Mutant Modality, Glanz Und Elend or Venaeform, earning support from international artists. Performing across Europe, she had the opportunity to play DJ sets and live acts in Germany, Belgium and Spain. Since 2021, she has been part of the post-industrial noise duo Kabocha. Recently she launched Rust, a webzine dedicated exclusively to alternative electronic music, with interviews, music reviews, and more.

Its been a while since i uploaded something new from a club set its a little late but here is the 1st hour of my set, enjoy!

As we gradually build toward the release of Rebekah’s debut album on Soma, the hard hitting DJ/producer drops her 3rd single in the shape of the Code Black EP. Rebekah is on somewhat of a frenzied run of form at the moment with not only an exhaustive touring schedule but a slew of releases that stand as a testament to her dedication to Techno. 

Title track Code Black hits the ground running with ice cold percussion and thunderous kicks running the show before a more jacking vibe is introduced backed by some seriously perilous pads. Disaster looms even more as Relapse Paradigm tears in next with clunking beats and straight percussive workouts as screeching synths and hooks give an overall foreboding atmosphere. X Confessions closes out the EP in no less vicious terms and Rebekah sets out on the warpath utilising pulsing rhythms and calamity inducing sequences to really rip into the dance floor.

With each release, Rebekah hones her skills and never fails to deliver her very best.
