The 39th release on microCastle welcomes Andre Sobota back to the label for his third EP in the last four years. The Brazilian producer has continued to impress since his hugely successful 'Surrounded By Time' EP from the summer of 2012. Andre's unique melodic sound has been enchanting electronic music fans ever since and he continues to be a favourite of Above and Beyond, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Eric Prydz and Pete Tong. Andre's new EP for microCastle is entitled 'Triangles' and includes 3 brand new original productions alongside remixes from: Robert Babicz, Microtrauma and James Teej.

The EP begins with the title cut 'Triangles' which would have to be one of Andre's standout melodic compositions to date. Led by some of this year's most sun drenched harmonies along with a dynamic groove and ethereal sonics it's sure to be a standout for the summer season. The lone remix of 'Triangles' is provided by Robert Babicz who is making his first appearance on microCastle. The Polish born Germany based producer has been one of the most influential artists over the course of his long and storied career in electronic music. Robert’s discography is full of impeccably produced classics like ‘Dark Flower’ and ‘Remote Kiss’ along with many others which all stand the test of time remarkable well. He’s updated some of electronic music’s most revered classic’s like Hardfloor ‘Acperience 1′ and Cybordelics ‘Adventures of Dama’ which both appeared on Harthouse over 20 years ago. More recently Robert has several stellar productions released courtesy of John Digweed's Bedrock records and his own Babiczstyle imprint. For his 'Triangles' interpretation Robert has transformed Andre's smooth and serene original into a funky, tech house bomb. The main motifs have been conveyed in a more subversive way and the end result is a groovy melodic cut that's perfect for your summer dance floors.

The second original 'Morning Lust' sees Andre with another unique progressive techno production. Irresistible hooks, a grinding groove and haunting motifs all wrapped in a lo-fi approach make for another standout melodic production. The lone interpretation of 'Morning Lust' is provided by Microtrauma who are returning to microCastle for their second appearance. The German duo who are renowned for their detailed sound first appeared on the Canadian behemoth in April of 2012 with a remix of Cid Inc & Lank's 'Emotional Self'. Subsequent appearances on Herzblut Recordings, Sudbeat and Traum have highlighted the duos discography in recent years and they've turned in a cutting edge interpretation of 'Morning Lust' here. Microtrauma has stripped the track down into a lean and exhilarating melodic techno construction. The duos fluid energy is renowned and once again on point here with waves of sonic details firing through the mix. A chain of feedback thematics during the main break proves to be a highlight and gives the track an even more distinct sonic aesthetic.

Label boss Schtu returns to Casomat with 'The Magician EP', a four-track release showcasing a slightly more nuanced side to his production style - one which he has previously only flirted with. Broken beats, stripped-back basslines, and even a track where, in his own words, "nothing much happens". For the Berlin-based producer and DJ, it’s a step into largely uncharted territory. Still, even though the EP demonstrates diversity in terms of mood and aesthetic, it still retains the melodic sensibilities and sharp arrangements that have become synonymous with Schtu's productions.

So, what to expect? Well, if each of the tracks had to have their own defining role in a kind of Spice Girls-esque arrangement, we'd probably assign them the following; LSD - the clubby one; The Magician - the deep one; Serendipity - the driving one; and Dopamine - the not-four-to-the-floor one.

Presenting our 11th release is Sri Lanka's very own - Subandrio, with a stunningly soulful 2-track EP titled 'Lost In Sigiriya'. Relatively new but highly in demand with his impeccable production skills, Subandrio has been rising up the ranks as one to watch out for. Quality releases on Replug, Perspectives Digital & Sudbeat with support from the who's who in the industry are a testament to his output. The consistency continues with his debut on Juicebox Music. 'Sigiriya' pays tribute to Sri Lanka's famous Lion Rock, also referred to as the '8th Wonder of The World'. Swarmed with arpeggiated riffs, phased pads & leads on a bed of shuffled percussive grooves along with a smooth rubber-bassline carries the track towards an attack of soaring stabs for the final moment. 'Lost Soul' continues the homage with ethnic flutes & darker undertones leading the way while keeping the arpeggiated riffs and chords on a lighter context but equally intense. 

We called upon two of our favorite producers at the moment for remix duties, both of whom have been equally consistent as the other and both of whom knows how to compliment the original in their style. First off is the Polish underdog - Monojoke, who touches 'Sigiriya' by beefing up the groove, adding his signature flair on top of the original parts and signing off with an epic climax. 'Lost Soul' gets warped interpretation by Serbian - Vlada D'Shake, who infuses twisted sounds and mind-bending surgical edits while resting, restlessly, on a tight groove with an aggressive drive.

Psychedelic reminiscences, vibrant percussions, and hypnotic progressions characterize the eclectic sound of Ángel and Hugo, A.K.A. Mordisco.

Hailing from Granada, Spain, they play records and produce music together. Their approach blurs the lines between Techno, House, and Disco – providing a very free and personal vision to dance music.

This vision recently translated to an EP released on My Favorite Robot Records that included a remix from the respected veteran producer, DJ and remixer Sascha Funke. Also, earlier this year, their track “Zenit” released on Coloray’s Intercept records and made many dancefloors move.

Thanks to the organization and curating of their Mordisco Club parties in their hometown, Ángel and Hugo have been able to obtain an expression channel since 2011 with which they show their particular vision of independent electronic music.

That expression is clearly represented in the guest artists who have gone through their parties and with those who have shared booth: Red Axes, Fort Romeau, John Talabot, Pional, and Jeniffer Cardini, amongst many others.

The next step for Mordisco is the release of a new track right before the end of the year and forthcoming on Applescal's Atomnation records. "Ventura" has a punk-indie feel with a magic scat vocal sample that's right on the money and will make many dancefloors move.

2019 was a massive musical year for Khen. He unleashed multiple projects that will be hammered on dance floors around the globe for the foreseeable future. His 'April Storms' track was featured on Hernan Cattaneo's Balance album, he remixed Marino Canal on Lost & Found and put out one of the best selling Beatort tracks of the summer with 'Where Is Home' alongside Guy Mantzur on Bedrock. 

Most recently, he debuted on Lee Burridge's new TRYBESof imprint and is now back for yet another debut on highly regarded French producer Sébastien Léger's 'Lost Miracle'.
