War Cry Extended Play is Calliber's project designed to trigger thought and attention of themes around the need of being spiritually awake. the name "War Cry" is defined as; "a call made to rally soldiers for battle or to gather together participants in a campaign."

In the ancient world of agrarian societies, large watchtowers were placed overlooking the fields. There, in the weeks the crops were ripening toward harvest, men would stand watch, guarding the fields from animals or from thieves who would make off with the crops. With the community’s basic food stores at stake, the watchman’s role was critical to the townspeople.

We also find several references in Scripture to a watcher mounting the city walls in times of stress to survey the scene outside the fortifications. He was situated on a spot from which he could monitor the approaches to the town. If a threat appeared, he would sound a warning (War Cry) and the town would shut its gates and prepare for battle.

Calliber likens this to our present spiritual condition, and the need to sound the War Cry for the Army of God on earth to take formation before the return of Jesus Christ. In this musical project he discusses a number of themes around this subject.

Samkeliso Magagula, affectionately known as “Calliber-The Berean Emcee” hails from a city known as Mbabane in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

Born in a middle-class Christian home to parents who were preaching the gospel, his life changed the day he came back from a French class in grade 3 to come back home to news of his mother murdered in Matsapha. 

Samkeliso grew up struggling with thoughts of atheism and finding intimacy in pornography despite his father’s guidance to follow God. Calliber sought to find himself in music as a rapper in his high school days. 

It was after he got saved and renewed his commitment to his faith in Jesus Christ in 2010, that he decided to restructure his persona as an artist and make rap music that expresses his convictions and faith in Jesus Christ.
