Exponent of a sound both intrinsically rugged yet layered to mind-altering effect, the British producer has been dishing out unstoppable slices of hi-velocity techno laced with a signature stripped-back, psychedelic edge. This new RYC podcast doesn’t veer off from such a direction and we’re graced with a two-hour mind trip boasting both bass-driven warehouse impact and an elegantly-woven tapestry of abrasive grooves, leaning by turn towards atmospheric elation and on other occasions pushing in the direction of utter fibrous, steel-coated industrial pound. ADVRPOD050 is a special one – a personal selection that brings together the sounds that have defined him over time.

Alex Oprea began his musical career in Argeș County in 2007, guided by his cousin who was already a DJ. Surrounded by a variety of musical genres and driven by curiosity, he quickly developed his own style and became a resident in over a dozen clubs in Romania.

The tireless search for knowledge led him to specialize as a sound engineer at SAE Bucharest — an effort that only intensified his passion for music. 
Encouraged by friends and producers in the scene, he moved on to music production, and his tracks began to be included in the sets of DJs in the local electronic scene. With roots in house and its subgenres, his sound combined deep grooves with abstract and atmospheric elements, creating a fluid and captivating musical flow.

With years of experience at the desk, Alex continues to shape his vision through various projects. In 2020, he co-founded Quantifiq, a duo that explores fusions between genres and styles. Two years later, he launched Advisual Records, a label dedicated to the personal and creative expression of its members, with a vision rooted in family and growth. In 2025 he also founded Melatune, a sub-label dedicated to the new generation of artists and fresh ideas.
