The Welders were an all-female Punk Pop band from St. Louis, MO. Formed by four young, teenage women in 1975 They started playing shows in 1976, in one of the toughest climates to get booked for bands playing original material. The Welders bonded over their love of The Monkees, The Beatles and early glam rock. The comedy of the National Lampoon Radio Hour and the Marx Brothers were just as big of an influence.

In the late 70’s dynamic British duo Alan Ward and Mike Butcher formed such memorable underground bands like Rollerball and Jet Staxx. Their biggest claim to (almost) fame is probably in 1977 with an act called Elton Motello, with whom they wrote and recorded “Jet Boy, Jet Girl”. The same backing track was later used with different lyrics and sung in French by Plastic Bertrand, who turned it into the legendary faux-punk hit “Ca Plane Pour Moi”. 

Before all of this, Ward and Butcher created one of their first musical projects in 1974: a junkshop glam project called Feather. Working as studio engineers in Brussels at the time, they recorded the Stones track “Stupid Girl” and their own tune “You Got Troubles”. It was released in 1975 as a single and both sides are swaggering, hi-energy rock ’n roll tracks with a New York Dolls attitude that bites you right in the crotch.

 The original single is one of the most sought after proto-punk releases and now, for the first time after 48 years, we’ve finally released an official reissue, remastered from the original recordings.  Limited to 250 copies on black 7” vinyl.

We are honored to release the 40th Anniversary Edition of JOOK/SPARKS/JET/RADIO STARS guitar hero, TREVOR WHITE's should-have-been-a-number-one-hit single from July 1976. Trev was fresh off his stint with Sparks when he recruited MARTIN GORDON (Sparks, Radio Stars) and CHRIS TOWNSON (John's Children, Jook, Jet, Radio Stars) to record this slice of perfection known as "Crazy Kids". Trev originally recorded this tune with Jook back in 1974 as the B-side to their incredible "Bish Bash Bosh" single. The B-side of this single, "Movin' In The Right Direction", is actually an unreleased-at-the-time Jook song, with Ian "Ralf" Kimmet on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Ian Hampton (Sparks) on bass, and Chris Townson on drums again. This single is available for the first time in decades, and is newly remastered from the original recordings. The clarity is stunning. You can hear guitars and vocals that were buried on the original pressing. BUY OR DIE!

From swingin’ Sudbury, Ontario, CA (nada), here come TOMMY and the COMMIES with their debut recordings for Slovenly Recordings, "Here come Tommy and the Commies!" “Here Come…” is 16 blistering minutes of hooliganistic mod-punk madness featuring Jeff Houle, also known as the sole brain behind budget rock cult faves STRANGE ATTRACTOR, and his brother Mitch, known ⅔ collectively as the power-pop force STATUES of P. Trash Records fame. 

Swagger drenched youngster frontman Tommy Commy recruited Strange Jeff by dragging him into a bathroom stall during a punk show, playing him an inaudible demo on a phone. The Houle Two agreed to join forces for Tommy’s first foray into the world of record making on the strength of giving “Spiral Scratch” era Howard Devoto a run for his dosh on the vox on any given holiday. This kid has GOT IT, BABY! 

In a perfect modern world, songs like “Devices,” and “Suckin’ In Your 20’s” would be massive chart smashes on the level of “Teenage Kicks.” Those days are long gone, but here we are in 2018, giving YOU what you need, and what THEY don’t deserve.
