‘DNA’ is a new series of v/a albums on Food Music, each presented by some of the worlds most exciting DJ and production talent.

The first in the series, crafted by Kry Wolf, is a journey through the musical flavours and vibes that inspire Lewis and Bill to do what they do. Presented both in a DJ mix and as individual tracks, we’re proud to present an album full of exclusive material put together the best way we know how, featuring New York Transit Authority, Shadow Child with Friend Within and Doorly, Bodhi, Aaron Snapes, Waifs and Strays and brand new material from Kry Wolf themselves, including ‘No Trouble’, and the now official update of Rave Classic ‘Sweet Harmony’, with full blessing from Liquid and XL Recordings.

The new up-and-comers on this album also offer us a fresh perspective on the future of House, amongst others Pluto, Vyhce, Tones, and in particular the long-awaited ‘Dysturbed Trumpet’ from Geoff K, provide a bright look into 2015 and beyond with the rest of the talent featured on Kry Wolf’s ‘DNA’.

Following on from releases with Moda Black, Portsmouth based Concrete Music and Get Twisted over the past couple of years, emerging London based producer Jett will showcase his deft and vivid approach to UK House, with a two track debut for Fat! Records.

His gorgeous rendition of Radiohead’s 'Talk Show Host' played a part in the dramatic conclusion of Gorgon City’s Essential Mix for Radio 1, back in September.

Jett’s potent blend of deep and absorbing bass contrasts perfectly with striking, yet wistful top lines to conjure up a stonking opening track with 'Streets of You'. Second track 'Zeus' is a more upbeat affair, aimed squarely at the dancefloor, picking apart the ever blurring lines between speed garage and deep house.

The seeds for this exciting collaboration between Nick Warren and Guy Mantzur were sown a long time ago during snatched conversations at airport terminals, online and at various shows around the world. But, their hectic schedules has meant that patience has been a necessary virtue when it came to actually finding time to work together on this new project. However, the final product – “Sad Robot” – for John Digweed’s Bedrock label has definitely been worth the wait!

This sparkling gem of a track pushes all the right buttons: a low-slung, percussive groove backbone, peppered with twisted vocal snippets and an ebb and flow of euphoric attitude that only comes from years of experience of rocking the best dancefloors around the world week in week out. With added excitement in the form of an energetic, throbbing monster of a remix by Musumeci (aka Sicilian DJ/Producer Mauro Di Martino) – this new package from Bedrock is set to fly.

Nick Warren has just recently returned from another successful tour of South America, and is currently working with production partner Jody Wisternoff on a new Way Out West album. Meanwhile, Guy Mantzur has forthcoming releases lined up on Kompakt and Lost & Found. This first meeting of musical minds for Bedrock has proved such a creative success, we can only hope they find time for more collaborations like this in the future.

We couldn’t be happier to put this disc out there. Kush’s first time on wax (his Strictly 4 My CDJs series on his Bandcamp site is essential) is four tracks that just relentlessly provide for the DJ in you. Representing the new era of NYC dance music along with artists like AceMoMa and DJ Swisha, mixing footwork and other influences with classic house and techno forms to get busy.

The whole 12” is lethal stuff that recalls Dance Mania at it’s most melodic and spaced out, or prime-time Boo Williams. “Earth Note” pulls bright synths thru swinging Chi foundations, “Ari Dub” rocks the bells and the bass in Bronx fashion, “Worldly Rhythm” piles UR melodies and techno grandeur on a vicious bassline, and “Reso” closes things out with a devastating mixer full of blue-hot string work. Any rumblings or annoyance at being awoken at the crack of dawn soon evaporated when they reached the foot of the river. The sun was protected by a soft mist that drifted softly above the calm waters; it felt peaceful, magical even. This is where they'd post up for the foreseeable, rods and camping chairs in tow; it was the perfect spot to patiently watch the day go by, and hopefully catch a fish or two...

Last year Southeast London's Yam Records kicked off their BAM (Body Action Music) series as a means to share no nonsense DJ-focused tracks, cut for the dance floor. They follow up the first instalment from Bristol's Human Resources with a four tracker from Kyoto-based producer and Scuffed Records alumni Stones Taro. With a penchant for jungle, breaks, UKG and house, Taro breathes new life into these styles, crafting a collection of club-ready tracks that celebrate the quintessential sounds of the UK clubland.
