Lost in Ether | Podcast #9 | Temporal Transmission

A Frenchman called Tomas More once lived in Londres. During the 00s he met up with a friend named Danton Eeprom and began hosting parties that city’s infamous T Bar where they invited French DJs such as Jennifer Cardini and Chlóe to play alongside British luminaries like Andrew Weatherall. A little later More & Eeprom began ‘Foundation Black Thursday’ at that venerable Parisian institution the Rex Club, hosting artists such as Jamie Jones and Maetrik. And then growing in confidence More realised he was bored and needed to escape his comfort zone and engage in a new means to realise himself and the nom-de-guerre December was born, an alter-ego facilitating exploration of the darker aspects of his art. Marked by confrontation December takes cues from French cold wave bands and techno artists such as Finland’s Pan Sonic and early Autechre. December stares deep between the cracks and coaxes out the little dark things that lie therein, producing a dark, multi-layered mix, hanging between ambient and techno and pierced through with the angst and loss and fire of punk and no wave music.

About KiM:
KiM (King Maluga) - graduated from Joseph Elsner National School of Music 2nd degree in Warsaw (flute class) and the Academy of Film and Television, certified sound engineer, composer, producer, raised in a family of musicians. Still perfecting her skills in fields related to sound. Graduated from music school in 2005, and that is when she decided to move from the symphony orchestra to the club scene, which enabled her widening horizons of electronic music at large. Debuted in April 2005 in Warsaw club LuZztro, where she is still a resident. She became interested in electronic music much earlier, drawing inspiration from, among others, the Berlin and London scene. KiM musical style is broadly defined electronics, it is not limited to specific genre because of combining everything to her liking and recognition, still looking for new sounds. One of the founders of social-artistic group ME.NE.LE / HOLA! / Deep We Can / Przyjaciele w tańcu. She had events in clubs all over Poland and also in London (UK), Berlin (D), Brussels (BE) or Grodno (BY). Vinyl lover.

Constantine Skourlis

His music can be described as a visceral, heavily overloaded mass of sound created with guitars,amplifiers,chamber organs,prepared piano and field recordings influenced as much by Metal as by Classical Minimalism and Drone.He has worked on numerous projects alongside acclaimed artists ,choreographers ,and curators and has been in charge of curating various festivals , events and exhibitions around Greece , Europe and the Middle East.While being closely affiliated with Bedouin Records and Bastakiya Tapes he is expected to have his first personal album released on 2016 .He is also one half of "Ekkert" alsongside prolific pianist Christos Sakellaridis .The duo are currently working on a series of live performances incorporating electronics and prepared piano that will be based on the project's first album that was released on Bastakiya Tapes .Most recently he has been working on a string of releases and live/dj performances as one half of "Liciatum" project .His work has also been presented live and in the form of sound installations in various galleries and venues globally.

Ziúr has emerged as one of the world’s most striking and innovative electronic music producers in recent times, so it stands to reason that her DJ sets should be similarly wide-ranging. In this exclusive mix the Berlin-based artist covers a huge amount of sonic ground. Beginning with Nancy Wilson’s soulful ‘(You Don't Know) How Glad I Am’, @ziurziurziur then zips between deconstructed club tracks, driving rhythms from Nyege Nyege Tapes, ambient music, artful electronic composition, leftfield dancehall and much more besides across the mix’s near-hour-long runtime. All of this stylistic hot-footing could make for a disparate set of tracks, but in Ziúr's hands they come to form a composite whole, one that is alien and futuristic yet also deeply emotional.
