So.... I (Adam Ortiz) have been sitting on this Avada Kedavra track and remixes for close to a year now and I wasn't sure when to release it.

J. Skitz says "YO, YOU SHOULD RELEASE THAT AVADA KEDAVRA TRACK/REMIXES FOR HALLOWEEN!!!!"

and I'm like "YEAH BUT ANTONIO HAS SOME TRACKS HE WANTS TO RELEASE ON HALLOWEEN TOO, BRO."

and then it hit me. No one could have thought of this. /s

What if we combine them into one VA Halloween Special. Like Frankenstein's Monster.

And our monster includes remixes from J. Skitz, Subtractive, Memnok (his first release/remix in 10 YEARS!), and Antonio Lombardo himself.

There's a little bit for everyone in here. Kind of like a pillow case full of candy after a full night of trick-or-treating.

Stay tuned to listen to Ciel, a Xi'an-born and Toronto-based producer, pianist, promoter, radio host, and DJ. She is the creator of Toronto's Work in Progress party series, & a co-founder of Toronto label Parallel Minds with Daniel 58 and Yohei S. She hosts a monthly radio show on Rinse FM & is a member of Discwoman. Ciel released her first EP on Peach Discs in 2017, and followed up with a 4 tracker on Coastal Haze called Hundred Flowers. Her new release, Trojan Horse, is out now on Umfang's label Thanks for Enlightening Me.

Test subject 1.8 is Eora based creative IV Drip (@iv-dripp), who brings us a transmission veiled in claustrophobia and suppression. Spinning together heavy-weight bass pressure, agitated breaks and chaotic melodies, this recording is representative of differing layers of energy and emotion battling to break free from a world of confinement.

"I found the image kind of chaotic which I guess translates when you listen to the mix. While I was putting it together it was peak lock-down time, and I actually found it was a really good way to get out a bunch of pent up energy that I didn’t have an outlet for." - IV Drip on her approach to mixing using the provided stimulus.

We are pleased to host a mix by one of our favourite creatives in berlin who mesmerises with a mix that touches every corner with heart and uniqueness .

NM DJ is a recording and printing artist based in Berlin. Her vocal practice developed out of writing and reciting poetry at readings organized by TABLOID Press – a publishing house she co-founded with Zoe Darsee in 2014. She has collaborated as a vocalist with musical artists such as Perila, Special Guest DJ, Soho Rezanejad, and Ulla Straus, and in November 2019 performed a live set with exael on Berlin’s HÖR radio. As a designer, she has produced album graphics for labels including wood//work, Experiences Ltd., Uzuri, and Lillerne Tapes.
