Estamos muy contentxs de presentarles Old Way My Alma!, un mix hecho por Isla Mantícora, siendo el primer proyecto independiente que tenemos el honor de difundir en nuestras plataformas. 

Isla Mantícora:
"Este set es compartido con profundo cariño a la comunidad Ballroom y a quienes encuentran un motor, movimiento y expansión en el primer estilo de Voguing originado en la década de 1970: el Oldway.

Los temas que componen este set pasan por diferentes géneros, desde Disco y Soul hasta House y Electro, comprendiendo entre los años 1976 y 1998. Esta selección busca evocar la atmósfera y energía de estas épocas, en las cuales el surgimiento y difusión tanto de dichas escenas musicales cómo de la cultura Ballroom están íntimamente unidas, creando espacios de liberación, goce, resistencia y familia para las personas LGBTQ+ y racializadas. La selección fue realizada en colaboración con House of Abya Yala, Artu 007 y Ballroom Sexta, quienes nutren la comunidad levantando instancias para transmitir sus saberes y experiencia en torno al Voguing en diferentes puntos del territorio.

Gracias a todes quienes inspiraron este trabajo y participaron de él, por su entusiasmo, conocimientos y espera. A Joven Amaru por su ojo estético y crear el arte del set. Y a Soul Cardio por la oportunidad y su motivación en generar este tipo de espacios para la difusión del trabajo musical de artistas nacionales e internacionales."
