The Un-Citizen

Here's an original experimental composition which I have composed, arranged and performed. It's inspired by the uncertain times in which we live and utilizes a small variety of samples. The first sample heard is from an Aboriginal woman telling a story in Miriwoong, a rare indigenous language which has fewer than 20 fluent speakers. The second sample is that of the late great black political activist, Dick Gregory. The third and penultimate samples are chants from the Mauri people in New Zealand. In between, we hear a man from India performing Konnakol rhythms, while the final sample, which concludes the piece, is once more by Dick Gregory.     -Vuk Pavlovic
