Turn Down For What (DJ Fresh Direct V Turnt Up Remix)

December 30th, 2014 marked the final date of Hoodie Allen’s national “People Keep Talking" Tour, which stopped in 31 US cities over the course of 6 weeks. DJ Fresh Direct joined Hoodie on the entire run as both the DJ in his backing band, and also the closing act of the show following Hoodie’s final song. 

Fresh Direct’s aggressive and energetic style of DJing quickly transformed the packed concert venues into a high intensity dance party as he deftly played through a variety of genres, from dubstep and trap to electro and hip-hop. 

The just-released “People Keep Talking Tour Recap Mix” is an enhanced version of the set DJ Fresh Direct played on the tour. The new mix includes several exclusive previously unreleased personal edits and remixes, which can only be heard on this mix.

The mix is available for free download at DJ Fresh Direct’s Facebook and Soundcloud pages, and marks the start of many releases to come from him in 2015.

This past Saturday June 15th, I was DJ'ing for Hoodie Allen at an outdoor festival at Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. At the end of Hoodie's set, we transitioned into my DJ set as we always do. The event planners were not expecting the such turnout for the festival, and staffed the light-fence barricade with ONE police officer. 

At the drop of the first song, the crowd 5,000 person crowd pushed forward knocked over the water barrels and the barricade. The front of house engineer cut the sound, and they brought in police and fire department reinforcements to evacuate the park. 

This was that first song.
